As the MP is supplied with two covers, I now use the slotted cover and keep the plain one as a spare in my camera bag. Welcome, dear visitor! If anything, mine is prone to seizing on tight. A real PITA to remove without a slot. I’ll be extra careful in future (until I locate the slotted cover, and install it!) After more than a decade of use, holidays, a 14 month cycling trip across Eurasia, through Mongolia, up to Everest base camp, weddings, the birth of my children, trips to the park with said children, Christmases, funerals, days out about town and everyday life at home, I still love my MP...
