Jon Glass Posted March 13, 2019 Share #3921 Posted March 13, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) How do you like the 18mm on the MP? I only have a 35 at the moment and definitely want a wider lens...was comparing options at 21, 24, 25, and 28 and was concerned with the wider lenses that I'd lose too much of my ability to frame a shot. I am not sure yet! I got the Super-Elmar 1:3.8 18mm at the time I purchased the camera. The Summilux 1:1.4 35mm I had with my M9 and thats what I typically shot with on the M9. I am keen to see how the 18 does. Then again, since I have not shot with film in a few decades, I will be keen to see how I do with film all the same!

TheDot Posted March 18, 2019 Share #3924 Posted March 18, 2019 I was out doing some street photography while traveling this weekend. At one point I asked a friend to take a photo of me with my MP. He looked at the camera, looked at me and then pulled his camera phone out of his pocket and said “this is all I know how to do”. We both laughed. Now I need to get some film developed :) 2

She's a beauty. Sadly, I suspect you'll want more than I can offer for it. I've been scoping out the various vintages of the 28mm Elmarit to fill my wide angle needs, hoping to find a good deal. I'm traveling to Morocco in May so whatever happens, I need something by then. Edited March 19, 2019 by Jon Glass
jakham Posted March 29, 2019 Share #3927 Posted March 29, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, do you have experience with half cases on MP? Could you recomend one for good price? Thanks!
Jon Glass Posted March 29, 2019 Share #3928 Posted March 29, 2019 Below is a link to another thread that has a few options listed. I talked myself out of a half-case because I imagine it will be annoying when loading film, but if I were buying I'd look at Luigi's stuff.

jensthoes Posted April 10, 2019 Share #3930 Posted April 10, 2019 ...today I will send back this new camera. It has a strong and obvious BACKFOCUS - absolutely NOT acceptable at a NEW camera. Leica'a Marekting is NOT true - this is NOT a PERCET camera! Best, Jens
Paulus Posted April 10, 2019 Share #3931 Posted April 10, 2019 The camera is , almost perfect I think. The people who make them are not. The good thing is, that every MP can be perfectly repaired.

Definitely send it back, Leica will make good on the warranty, they may even give you an entirely new camera if you bought it so recently. Rangefinder alignment is easy to fix, although it is unusual that it came like that when you got it. Rangefinder calibration is tested before it goes in the box.
