Good news, I've just booked flights! Due to a number of personal things going on I was going to wait until nearer the time to commit but I just played around on the web and found a return with BA for a very good price, so had to snap it up.

I shall be there!

Hi Andy,

From me, 1 for dinner please ( non veggie, regular person :p

Might be two, wife still deciding if she takes the little one or not ; if she does, I'm going alone to dinner and she will go dinner with some friends of ours with the little one. If we do not take the mini-me, then we would be two ( her being veggie.... wives... oh well ).

Booked Residenza Frattina . Arriving on Friday, leaving on Thursday.

I've booked into Rooms in Rome (Via Muzio Clementi 18, Rome, 00193) coming in on Thursday (12 Oct) night, leaving Sunday (15 Oct) morning. It is about half way between the dinner venue and where you are staying.

Ha ha. Yes almost. Being a mathematician, we are 3 not 3! :)

Looking forward to it. Lars usually gets a good hotel and after Lisbon where I ended up in a pokey little dark room, I have given up thinking "I just need a room to sleep and dont need a nice comfortable hotel". Treating myself.

I'll certainly find my way to Rome but will sort the details later, currently, my younger colleague is again on parental leave (I did the Melbourne job mainly with remaining 2016 holidays, which, by the way, feels partly like getting it for free).

But Rome is definitely one of the most magic places. I also like the luxury of using a two-thousand year old bridge just to cross the Tevere.

I also have to try a new trick with the Bocca della Verità in S. Maria in Cosmedin, which is said to cut a liar's hand off. The last time I said mentio, when putting my hand in, but disappointingly, the paradox did not lead to it's disintegration.

(...) I have given up thinking "I just need a room to sleep and dont need a nice comfortable hotel". Treating myself. (...)

That approach has my full recommendation. Having just had twelve different accomodations in a row, I started to intersperse a nice hotel here and a posh B&B there after a chain of Motels.

We've also just booked the same hotel; Rooms in Rome, Via Muzio Clementi 18, Rome 00193. Arriving Thursday and leaving Monday.

Just need to decide whether to fly or drive. Either way, looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Cheers, Tom

Hy Andy,

Just to let you know that we (my wife Magda and myself) will be joining the Challenge this year for the first time. I'm looking at accommodation right with a decent parking service now because we intend to drive up to Rome and continue with a couple of weeks afterwards in Bologna and Parma where we have booked tickets for the Verdi Festival. You can count us both in for the dinner and no need for vegetarian for us the meat will do fine. So see you all in October.

Regards

Gerd
