This lens never fails to please thanks to Malcolm Taylor's attention when I first bought it a couple of years ago. Just shot a roll of film with only this lens, looking forward to seeing how it/I did.

There is only one version of the pre-ASPH 35mm Summilux, optically. Same lens from 1961 until end of production (1995-ish). Cosmetic or operational differences such as infinity locks, focus tabs styles, M3 goggles, filter and hood sizes, and minimum focus distances don't affect the imaging. And yes, it is a Mandler lens. AndreasG Posted August 22, 2019 Share #510 Posted August 22, 2019 Yes, the "old" Summilux 1.4/35 is still a great lens. I bought mine 30 years ago, by chance, it is a late Made in Germany version. It just came back from Leica after a CLA (first time!) and it works very well with a M10-D. Welcome, dear visitor! Musotographer Posted August 22, 2019 Share #511 Posted August 22, 2019 The titanium version, 1992, on my M9P - one of my favourite lenses. There's a bit of black paint missing from where the filter thread would normally be, which is presumably why it was relatively affordable. Taken with a Dual-Range Summicron on an M10, just to stay within the magical Mandler parameters. 🙂 Welcome, dear visitor! evikne Posted August 27, 2019 Share #515 Posted August 27, 2019 No blueberry year this year … My son was in the woods picking blueberries with the school class, and this is what he brought back home. 😄 I love the rendering of the 75 Lux, but I had to stop down to f/4 for this shot at minimum distance, which also elicited the annoying jagged bokeh ball up to the left. a.noctilux Posted August 27, 2019 Share #517 Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) Two blueberries "Made in Italie" 😉 👍 Nice composition. Next year more blueberries will come 🔆 This is first time that jagged balls don't worry me. Other times, I close down to past f/5.6 or 8 to avoid them with Summilux 75mm, beside using wide open of course. This is old Noctilux 1.0, wide open on Kodachrome 25 posted somewhere already, but has it's place here Welcome, dear visitor! evikne Posted August 27, 2019 Share #518 Posted August 27, 2019 @a.noctilux Thank you! My intention with the picture was primarily to show the beautiful rendering of the jam jar. Secondly to share a little fun story. The jagged bokeh ball was just an additional comment. I agree it isn't that bad.
