How about 'delayed'?

More seriously, the only one due this year, according to latest roadmap, is the 75. The other 2 said to be in the Spring, along with the wide zoom.

I put my name on the list for the mythical 75mm APO at the Boston Leica Store.  They didn't give me any insight on delivery date, but said the official expectation is still this year. I had heard there were some pix on instagram using this lens, but I have not been able to find any.

I have cancelled my 16-35SL and am selling my 90-280SL. I have a CL on order with the 18-56 and 11-23. For longer lengths, I can use the 24-90SL and my 80-200/f4 R lens. I have bought an R to L adapter from Harrisons, who have it in their Black Friday sale at the moment. As my 80-200 is one of the late ROM lenses, it will communicate via the R to L, which it will not do via the stacked R to M and M to L adapters.

The 80-200/4.0R should be rather spectacular on the CL.

Jaap,

I hope so and it is so much lighter and smaller than the 90-280. It was initially rather disappointing and smelt like an old ashtray, so must have had a heavy smoker as its first owner. The focus ring was also very slack and inaccurate. I sent it to Will van Manen for service on your recommendation and it came back much improved. I nearly sold it earlier this year but could not quite come to an agreement on price, so I am now glad I didn't sell.

The price list for the SL 75 & 90 Summicrons are officially published in all Leica stores.

For Singapore, the price of both crons are very close to the SL50lux, difference of no less than SGD$100. A very different pricing strategy comparing to the M50lux against M75corn & M90corn. I am guessing that the AF performance on SL75corn & SL90corn are way better than SL50lux therefore Leica strategically raise the prices of the SLcorns to subsidise the slow sales of the SL50lux.

Very likely for Leica to announce the Pre-order in December 2017 and actual delivery will be Jan to March 2018.

I was trying out the AFc + tracking on CL + 90-280mm in Leica store yesterday. Tracking worked well on slow moving objects (pedestrian walking by) on the pre production units,...results looked good. There is a strange vibration felt on the camera when the 'AF tracking' happens.

Overall feeling is positive in handling the combination. I figured it would be better with the CL's grip attached when it becomes available. The overall focal length of the 90-280mm VE gets extended to 420mm, quite a good reach for bird photography if the AF works as well as the SL's AF. The combo feels great hand held!

I read that adapter support is limited. So I am not so sure how much functionality will  be working with the sophisticated adapters and the CL.

Maybe you better wait for the first serious reviews.

I agree the CL is close to what I had expected from the TL2 - fine. But I am still thinking I prefer the SL. And I would still prefer more native lenses.

As Ingo writes the CL for hobby and holiday, maybe also macro ( but nobody serious has tested it yet - Ingo does macro just for fun).

All in all I think Leica is losing direction (if they ever had a clear direction).   :D

If I need longer lenses, then I rather go for a factor of 2 (MFT) than only 1.5. For retirement the CL is probably better than the SL. But I am still too far away from that ...

And I don't see many Olympus users preferring it to an OM model. (Or Fuji) (Once they have decided for it and bought the lenses.)

What is the price in american dollars ?       (5000 dollars ?)

A "normal" 75 or 90 mm at the same price as a reference 1.4 50 mm ?  Not very likely.

I cannot find the price online.

USD$ 1.00 = SGD$ 1.35 for now.

I was shown the pricelist in a Leica store yesterday in Singapore and therefore surprised at such close pricing of SL native prime 50, 75 & 90mm. You can choose to ignore me if you think I'm lying and wait to find out the prices yourself.

While waiting for my CL, I tried my new (Black Friday) R to L adapter on the SL. Firstly, what a beautifully made piece of kit, with a very nice detachable tripod foot. Leica's metal work goes from excellent to superlative. My ROM 80-200/f4 instantly communicates its lens details to the SL at least. Focal length transmission not wholly accurate as the FL tops out at 178mm, which is a bit odd. Aperture seems accurate as well. I meant to try to see if auto-aperture works but forgot. I will try later today. The 80-200 seems tiny in comparison to the 90-280, which has now gone off to Ffordes for commission sale.

The camera has no function to auto stop down the lens if that’s what you’re referring to with “auto-aperture”, as this is a mechanical function of R lenses and the adapter doesn’t have any way to actuate it.

Had this been incorporated the price would have made much more sense to me and I’d likely be shooting some R lenses.

If Leica do not deliver that 16-35 in the spring, I am selling the SL and moving on. Enough {expletive deleted} about here. 90 mm Thambar, a CL on the heels of the TL2 and yet early adopters of the SL are made to wait and wait for lenses. Disgraceful, and I've bout had enough. Wake up Leica, you're pissing off a lot of users.

For a fair while I have viewed Leica's drive for product diversification with some misgivings ......

Far better to expand the current lens/accessory portfolio and improve deficiencies in the current selection of cameras ... most of which are firmware based changes.

Leica could have survived perfectly well without the CL and spent all that re-tooling and development time in producing more SL and TL lenses ......
