Advertisement Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Hi miro, Take a look here Which single focal length do you shoot ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted January 2, 2016 Share #2 Posted January 2, 2016 FL choice depends on personal preferences of course. Most people "see" in 35, 40 or 50mm so if they have an M8 they will choose a 24, 28, 35 or 40mm lens accordingly. As a 50mm lover, my favorite lenses on M8.2 are Biogon 35/2.8 in good light, Summilux 35/1.4 FLE in low light and a late Summilux 35/1.4 pre-asph for soft portraits. FWIW. squarenegs Posted January 2, 2016 Share #3 Posted January 2, 2016 I do use more than one FL on my M8 but most often it's the 24mm Elmarit. Recently, I acquired a 25mm CV Though slow, the IQ is excellent and the size is lovely-small compared to the Elmarit. My best wishes for 2016 to everyone on the Forum
DirkB17 Posted January 2, 2016 Share #4 Posted January 2, 2016 When I had the M8 I absolutely loved the 28 Summicron. However, I also found the 25 Zeiss excellent.
gray.mason Posted January 4, 2016 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2016 Depends On the situation: typical walkabout = 28mm f3.5 color skopar; low light = hexagon UC 35 mm f 2.0; bright light Hexanon 21-35 dual. plus I keep a tele-elmarit 90 mm f2.8. rivi1969 Posted February 7, 2016 Share #6 Posted February 7, 2016 I only have one M-mount lens: Zeiss Biogon ZM 35mm f2 and I love it. Just a little wider than 50mm so for me is perfect.

farnz Posted February 8, 2016 Share #9 Posted February 8, 2016 21/2.8 Kobalux but for a reason. My M8 is now mainly used for infra-red photography and the 21 Kobalux is an excellent infra-red lens that's fast enough wide open to allow it to be handheld in reasonable light and has no IR hotspot. pippy Posted February 11, 2016 Share #10 Posted February 11, 2016 If I had to choose just one lens it would be my 40mm f1.4 Voigtlander Nokton. Translates as 53mm in 'full-frame speak' which suits me fine. Very sharp, easily fast enough (for me) and beautifully made. Can't fault it as a choice for the M8. Pip. nilstgmd Posted February 12, 2016 Share #11 Posted February 12, 2016 I use both Voigtländer Ultron 2/28mm and Nokton 1.4/50mm. If I had to choose, I would take the 28mm.
mike_j Posted February 28, 2016 Share #12 Posted February 28, 2016 I'm down to just two M fit lenses now, 28mm Zeiss f2.8 and 50mm Summicron. Almost always use the 28mm.
Ernstk Posted March 2, 2016 Share #13 Posted March 2, 2016 35mm Summilux pre and 35mm Summaron 2,8. But I really want a 24mm which would give me my dream focal length of 32mm (effectively)
GLAUMAX Posted March 2, 2016 Share #14 Posted March 2, 2016 If I only take one lens, it is the Cron 40. I also really like the Zeiss C-Biogon 21mm and the Cron 75 on the M8
tobey bilek Posted March 18, 2016 Share #15 Posted March 18, 2016 35 V4 is on the M8. 35 ASPH on the M9. 28 2.8 ASPH is very nice on either
david strachan Posted March 18, 2016 Share #16 Posted March 18, 2016 Any of my numerous brands LTM's. All low contrast, all beautifully made...I use them all. Sometimes Visoflex III with or without bellows, or OUAGO mit 90mm lens head. I do my M8 photography for fun. Often though Voigtlander 35mm f1.4 classic (lower contrast)..if I'm not using my Voigtlander 15mm...often my Leica Summicron 50mm collapsible (one of the first)..or...or.. If I want easy, sharp and contrasty with heavy autofocus lenses...well I use my Fuji X E-1. I might appear confused . In a nutshell depends what I'm photographing. cheers Dave S
easy_action Posted March 20, 2016 Share #17 Posted March 20, 2016 It's got to be 35mm on my M8.2 - various flavours, but most excited about my recently acquired Summilux Asph. pre-FLE. Just wonderful so far. Prior to that I mainly used a Canon 35mm f/2 ltm which was very compact and handled well on the camera.
JakaSkorjanc Posted March 20, 2016 Share #18 Posted March 20, 2016 35 Summilux ASPH (pre - FLE) on M8. Great combination, optimized to be best at 1.4.
