scott kirkpatrick Posted March 2, 2016 Share #161 Posted March 2, 2016 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was just looking through the early reports on the Fuji X-Pro2. Like the SL, it supports two CD cards. In slot 1, UHS-II is supported, in slot 2, only UHS-I is available. I suspect there is a common component that has become available for this feature. But the Fuji has three modes of operation. Write to both, or "backup" mode, write sequentially to card 1, then to card 2 when 1 is filled, and (as several of us have asked here), put the RAW files on card #1 and the JPGs on card #2. So it can't be that hard! BTW, I had a temporary card fail in slot #1 this morning, and my SL simply said "error -- unable to write to card 1." There was a perfectly good card 2 available, but it didn't write to there. Removing and reinserting card 1 cleared the problem, but I am disappointed. I would have expected that any obstacle to writing on card 1 would trigger writing to card 2. I also saw a mysterious glitch a few weeks back, where the SL wrote to card 2 when card 1 was only half full. I removed card 2 and shot some frames, which seemed to sort things out. Frame sequencing stayed continuous through this interlude, and no frames with duplicate numbers were created. Conclusions -- writing to two cards still needs work. Splitting dng and jpg files is not hard. Leica, please offer this! scott
Advertisement Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Hi scott kirkpatrick, Take a look here Leica SL Firmware Suggestions. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tomtom Posted March 3, 2016 Share #162 Posted March 3, 2016 Would love to see in the row of display functions (histogram, peaking etc...) a magnification-patch that is movable on the screen. So you could get critical focus and framing on the same time without zooming in and out.
tomtom Posted March 3, 2016 Share #163 Posted March 3, 2016 Also it would be very nice to have the rear wheel set to ISO.... If there is no electronic aperture lens attached.
edwardkaraa Posted March 23, 2016 Share #164 Posted March 23, 2016 I would like the minimum shutter speed in auto ISO mode to shift down when the top ISO value is reached, like with the M. I agree with the comments about the useless top dial. Direct EC with it would be quite handy. Permanent exposure preview should be a menu option. Sandokan Posted April 5, 2016 Share #165 Posted April 5, 2016 +1 from Other Suggestions:Ability to have peaking AND level at the same time.Ability to have focus assist box remember its position. My request is that we return to the facility that was developed on the M8, M9 and M series, in which you can assign a folder name or number, and picture numbers can increase up to 9999, not limited to 999Option to save DNG and JPG to different memory cards. Wishes that I didnt see elsewhere:- A Monochrom SL. Square cropping framelines. A Square sensor of 36 (or 49) mega pixels - preferably in Monochrom, which I would use for studio portraits.
