I was intending to post something else, a comparison of the Mandler R 80 SX with the 75 SL APO SC on the same subject, fresh fruits with the Pomelit at their flavor peak, mostly green.  The red peppers, BTW, are locally called Gamba.  Can you tell which lens did which picture?

75 SL is the bottom photo? More detail and better color rendering.

Looks to me like the focal point is slightly different.

In the bottom it is on the red pepper in front.

On the top, just a tad further to the rear.

Seems that the top photo has more of a glow too.

I'd guess top photo is the R80 and bottom is the SL 75.

I agree with the identification, so it must be a trick question. The top one is not only with the Mandler, it's also with the Panny (I cheated: I checked out Scott's Flickr account) 😀

I wasn't trying to be tricky.  I rendered the S1R at 50% and the SL at 70% to keep resolution constant.  Processed them with the same settings, but I think the AWB that the R80 came up with made the red peppers.a little more substantial.  You can see the AWB difference in the edge of the basket.  I could probably make these identical as both were taken at f/5.6 or so.  This subject didn't lend itself to wide open.

I've been playing around with the SL & the Macro Elmarit R 100mm f2.8, it performs wonderfully on the SL.

This Bee is all of 1cm long, gorging itself on pollen from a Lavender plant.

I’ve loved that lens and it’s 60mm little brother since my film days. They are very nice on the SL and the 60 is well suited for the diminutive Sigma FP too.

Black-Eyed Bulbuls a the edge of the pool   -SL & Canon 400mm f4 via Novoflex EF-L mount

Gregarious, bold and intuitive. I’ve watched Black-eyed Bulbuls mimic the alarm calls of other birds, thereby chasing those birds away from a food source. Then, having got rid of any competition they settle down to feast on whatever is available.
