I'm invited to the Leica event tomorrow in Wetzlar.

I've set up a dedicated thread where I'll try to report for the forum community starting at about 6 pm (German time):

And I would like to execute my promise - starting this thread I have asked moderators to ban me for 2 weeks if I am wrong with my prediction about new M.

After 1746 posts, I cannot remember what anyone predicted let alone you. So did you predict it would be announced on 20 Oct?

Whatever Leica is announcing, my interest will hinge on being able to make use of my £80k+ investment in M and R lenses. If I can't fit those lenses (with adapters), it is by definition a non-starter. My hope is that the T mount was engineered with sufficient forward thinking to be used in the new camera.

I can't recall the presentation I have been waiting with such excitement ever before:)

If it's new DSLR camera with ability to mount M it will be great piece! And I will say goodbye to Canon Mark 3 forever

It won't be a DSLR. No 24x36 DSLR could accommodate lenses with a 27.95mm register (think "mirrorbox"). The shortest register for a 24x36 DSLR was that of Alpa cameras: 37.8mm.

For long time M users it isn't that helpful. Most of us have a dslr anyway. But it's great for newcomer. They can start with AF and over time they make more pictures with rangefinder focussing. An M with AF is an easier product.

Sitting on a bus could also be more easy, than driving a car...why do things have to be easy?

I'm trying to figure out when "tomorrow" is. According to Hour World, Tuesday evening in Germany will be Wednesday 5:00 am here. I shan't be up quite that early. Same for some of the rugby which starts in the wee hours.  -_-

Looks like a Sony Alpha. If true, the irony.  :D
