Staying with the theme of beautiful people photographed with a Leica S (S007, Summicron 100)

Beautiful!

Here's one of the stitched panoramas from a sunset in July .... S 006  -  70mm Summarit , handheld at 5.6 and 250th ... the original file is around one 700mb ... its huge :D

It's quite difficult to see/play with S lenses in Sydney. So when Leica held an S afternoon yesterday I went along to see the lenses I'm considering. Really wanted to have a go with the 100mm Summicron S.

ISO 3200, diffused window light, type 007 w' 100mm @ f2.

Last shot from the Leica S before it went up for sale. 35 2.5 @ f16, 32 seconds. Thanks to Leica Miami for letting me use this lens.

A nice photograph, but obviously your relationship with the S was only a short liaison. Didn't you get your 006 only last May? What went wrong in Folly Beach?

That is correct. My other camera is a D810 which is powered with Zeiss glass, which is more versatile than the Leica. You cannot beat the S glass - it is unreal, but if Leica wants to keep this genre alive they are going to have to produce a larger sensor with more mp and solve some of their customer service issues. I've had the itch for a tech cam for several years and have rented a few with digital backs. After much agonizing (seriously!), I made the decision to buy a tech cam, DB, etc.

Shouldn't have done it................you just can't beat the S system for an all around camera system, even with its little quirks

I would be interested to know what you have chosen. I was thinking about the tech camera route since I have been using a view camera with film. I decided to go with the S, but a tech camera is still a possibility in the future.
