Confirmed that I collected from Stephens in Manchester on Saturday and am delighted with it. For those interested, the manufacturing date, as on the outer box is 29th July 2015.

Regards, Tom

Yes I'm over it. As expected.

Partly because I use a lot of colors, partly because of the highlight capability in the M246 as described in my article.

Did the same, "downgraded" to an M-P and expect to get a MM1 back again later this year...

Thorsten, when will your B&W article be ready? I was looking forward to learning more about what you discovered in using a M-P 240 v MM1 and MM2.

I use my M-P for B&W most of the time and am very interested in anything you can tell me about how to get the very best results.

I have no experience with either MM, but from reading, I would think that had I owned an M9, I would have found the advantages of the MM1 very significant, but, owning an M-P, I would be surprised whether the M246 offered enough extra to warrant an upgrade.

High ISO isn't really a compelling reason and I am delighted with my current M's B&W capability.

Ive been looking for your article since you announced it... Thank you.

Hi Moz,

I am considering upgrading my m9-p (sensor issue) towards the m246. But reading your feedback as well as Thorsten is making me hesitate.

If I understood right the highlights would require a more careful exposure than the m240 to avoid burning.

Could you confirm this?

And can anyone explain why that's the case? I know the rgb separation can help recovering details since some color component may not be burnt. Is this the only reason? I don't see any other difference between the m240 and the m246 exposure system which could explain this behavior. Am I missing something?
