luigi bertolotti Posted April 30, 2015 Share #2 Posted April 30, 2015 (edited) The ring to operate better the Elmar 50mm when mounted on an enlarger... it can be used also on a Leica, always with the Elmar, to have, at the same time, a lens hood and an easier way to set the f stops of the Elmar. Was originally named VALOO : http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/VALOO Edited April 30, 2015 by luigi bertolotti
thomas_schertel Posted April 30, 2015 Share #3 Posted April 30, 2015 +This is "VALOO", a sunshade, originally designed for the Elmar 3,5/50 mm screwmount. It ist used with reproduction devices. It makes the adjusting oft the diaphragm more easy. You can use it as a normal sun shade, if you do not want to apply colour filters. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.de/index.php/Gegenlichtblenden#VALOO yours sincerely Thomas

If I can tell more : using a A36 camera lens on a repro device or enlarger It makes the diaphrgm value readable from a standing attitude
