Back in the day the sensor manufacturers would make modifications to a product to Leica's preferences. With mergers and acquisitions the new management wouldn't do this and that was the end of that. I am in the market for the new cam to bundle up with the M9, which I intend keeping for color/CCD but very much intrigued by the 2nd gen Monochrom (and its platform). pedoc Posted May 24, 2015 Share #130 Posted May 24, 2015 I am very surprised by this M246, which I received yesterday. I picked it up in Germany. I enjoy it like Smeagol "the ring". Now studying the instructions. The camera is more fast, quiet and even easy to handle than my M9! It produces outstanding black-white images. Hope that the "apple issue" will be resolved soon.
