lct Posted August 13, 2014 Share #2 Â Posted August 13, 2014 LV works with any lens but if you want auto iso you must code your Elmar if it is not coded already.

lct Posted August 13, 2014 Share #4  Posted August 13, 2014 Sure, do you have coding pits like these on the bayonet of your lens? If not, you may wish to press the Menu button of the M240 and choose "Lens Detection", "Manual", "50 f/2.8 11831/11823/11824". Welcome, dear visitor! lct Posted August 14, 2014 Share #6 Â Posted August 14, 2014 Then you have an adapter ring that can be coded (more or less easily) in order for the lens to be recognized automatically if need be.

250swb Posted August 14, 2014 Share #8 Â Posted August 14, 2014 The easier way is to use an LTM adapter with the coding pits machined in, then you can leave 'lens detection' set to 'Auto'. Â Steve

250swb Posted August 14, 2014 Share #11 Â Posted August 14, 2014 LTM? Â An LTM adapter is what your are holding in the photo. The one you have is an older Voigtlander version before Leica lenses were coded. But on Ebay you can now buy codable adapters, the large cut out around the circumference is replaced with metal and on the reverse side are six rebates to take some black paint. You need a 50/75 LTM adapter, some hobby paint like Humbrol matt black, and the code for the lens. It has to be a 50/75 adapter not just because of the framelines, but because the camera expects a correlation between the frameline and the code for it to work automatically. Bill W Posted August 14, 2014 Share #12 Â Posted August 14, 2014 I have read this thread and I thought Neil was asking about live view not working for this lens. I guess my question is if he gets another adapter, will this allow live view to work. Is live view not working because it cannot detect a lens attached. luigi bertolotti Posted August 14, 2014 Share #13 Â Posted August 14, 2014 With a lens like the Elmar one must take into account that LTM/BM adapters without the cutout (to say, codable) can't work properly because they interfere with the focusing knob. pop Posted August 14, 2014 Share #14  Posted August 14, 2014 How do I use LV with my new Elmar lens........... It says no lens connected  With the current firmware version (2.0.1.5) this should no longer be an issue.  However, mind that the camera returns all settings to the factory default and that it drops any stored profiles upon installation of this firmware version. Better save them to the SD card before installing, if you want to keep them.
