If only this image could convey just how cold and how strong the wind was yesterday morning, blowing at gale force straight up from the Antarctic and bringing with it a series of small storms with granulated snow embedded in them.

Nice light and shadow tearing across the valley though!

Dee,

this is a marvellous picture with great clarity. This is indicating what you told about the cold nasty gale. Yet everything is tack sharp under a wide vivid sky. The house perched between protective trees is showing how rough the nature of this country can be.

A big thanks to all who looked and commented and to those who hit the "thanks" button.

In my (very humble) opinion this shot says a lot about Leica equipment, it was taken while I stood fully exposed to the exceptionally strong wind at the very top of the hill, no tripod obviously, and I was really being buffeted about.....yet the image is sharp as could be = homage to Leica lenses!

Dee,

It's the photographer that makes the picture, no? ;)

Thanks, sublime image!

Again, thanks to those who most recently looked & commented.

The excellent DOF is down to a thirty plus year old Leica lens and,

I guess, also to the sensor quality of Leica's M9 camera, as previously

stated there was no tripod involved and the wind was challenging.......

you've gotta admit that it's amazing gear!
