TomB_tx Posted August 19, 2014 Share #21 Posted August 19, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I got 3 or 4 sets at once from Aki-Asahi and they were well packed between stiff cardboard. The only thing wrong was an extra set for PentaxSV in wild snakeskin that I didn't order...

NikonJeff Posted August 19, 2014 Author Share #24 Posted August 19, 2014 I guess my only issue is that I emailed them when the package was received damaged and they said they would send a replacement out immediately. Haven't heard a word since and that's been 8 days now...

NikonJeff Posted September 1, 2014 Author Share #26 Posted September 1, 2014 So here I am 3 weeks since receiving the damaged M3 replacement cover - the US Post Office has the package and I have emailed Aki-Asahi three times now with absolutely no response and he has my money... This is a getting a wee bit annoying!
NikonJeff Posted September 2, 2014 Author Share #27 Posted September 2, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Pretty good timing - just received a reply yesterday from Aki-Asahi and the replacement package arrived today. I also bought an orange kid leather kit from Camera Leather that only took about 2 weeks order to delivery. I'm opting for the orange for now - looks nice! Welcome, dear visitor! NikonJeff Posted September 8, 2014 Author Share #31 Posted September 8, 2014 Just received my M3 back from Youxin Ye after a CLA and re-skinning. I know folks may not like the color, but I'm tickled! I think it came out great!!! A huge thank you to Youxin for a super fast turnaround time of less than 2 weeks and to Morgan from Camera Leather for getting this custom color kid leather also in less than 2 weeks time. Both services were great with their communication and answered all of my silly questions without pause... I couldn't be happier with the quality of the workmanship from both of them. NikonJeff Posted September 9, 2014 Author Share #34 Posted September 9, 2014 Top job. A stealthy street shooter if ever I saw one. Sorry, not stealthy. Enjoy. Thanks! Stealth wasn't my goal on this M3, I wanted something a wee bit more colorful than the black vulcanite!. I have an MM for that
Brenton C Posted September 13, 2014 Share #35 Posted September 13, 2014 Wow! Didnt think I'd like the look of it, but I was wrong. It looks great! That'll turn some heads! Then, when they realize it's no digitale du jour, they'll do a double take. Well done.

Nr90 Posted November 10, 2014 Share #37 Posted November 10, 2014 I really like the look of the orange in both the Hermes version and your camera. I am considering having mine done in a similar fashion. Cameraleather.com warns that this colour might not be suited for heavy use / sweaty hands / humid environments. How is yours holding up and how (much) are you using it?

Cameraleather.com warns that this colour might not be suited for heavy use / sweaty hands / humid environments. How is yours holding up and how (much) are you using it? So far so good but I didn't intent this to be a daily driver to be honest, so 1/2 dozen rolls so far... Based on Morgan's comment I opted to buy a Zhou 1/2 case to keep the camera in just to be safe… The orange really does pop and that's what I wanted. If you're looking to go stealthy, it's definitely not the color to chose Very happy with the quality of cameraleather's skins.

I carry mine nearly every day and I do not want to use a case. Haha, pop is what I'm looking for!
Joachim123 Posted November 10, 2014 Share #40 Posted November 10, 2014 I just ordered their Levant Black for my M3. Once I get it it goes for CLA and I got a cool leather strap from Hong Kong which is really nice to go with it. They have excellent products.
