Just won one on ebay

 

I ahve been lusting after one since I got into rangefinders and leicas. but I thought, having got the M4-P, a CLE and the Bessa R3A, that I really don't need one. But I was still lusting. Finally decided I would bid no more than £600. Didn't think I would get it but go this one: eBay.co.uk: Leica M6 0.72 Black Body Boxed Excellent++ (item 320106604744 end time 29-Apr-07 18:43:11 BST)

 

Slightly nervous as the pics aren't that good but the seller has good feedabck and the serial numbers puts it at 1995.

 

Have I got a bargain? Am i mad? Will I now never need to buy another camera at last?

 

Can't wait to get it and to USE it. I think I might invest in one of Luigi's cases now too to keep it nice.

Price is fair for an e bay purchase I'd say. I missed out on a chrome M6 my local dealer was selling for a customer, for £650, which came with warranty (and the chance to thoroughly inspect it before purchase).

 

The central London dealers charge a lot more of course.

You'll love the M6 Nick, it's because I bought one that I sold my R2. Mind you; I suspect you'll have an M8 before long.

I started with an M3 and VC lenses.

 

A few months later I have:

 

M3, M6 TTL .72 and M7 .72

 

with

 

50mm Elmar-M 2.8, 50mm Summilux 1.4, 90mm Elmarit 2.8 and 35mm Summaron 2.8 with googles.

I bought my M6 in I think 2001 and paid £1000. I've certainly had my money's worth since. Enjoy the camera I never regretted buying mine for an instant.

Having you already M4P, I say You have a perfect companion body : NOW, having two well matched bodies, plus other two for all the instances in which one does not want to "risk of carrying precious bodies", you have to dedicate all of your searches (and money...) to NICE LENSES... good luck, enjoy !

I just got a M6 2 months ago, along with a 50 cron and 90 cron. Just love it.
