Advertisement Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Hi Day, Take a look here New Firmware on May 24th. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
intermediatic Posted May 24, 2014 Share #22 Posted May 24, 2014 The source of the rumor is, not surprisingly, Leica Rumors. Nothing yet. I really hope it's true, but the lack of any leaks about beta firmware has me worried.
marknorton Posted May 24, 2014 Share #23 Posted May 24, 2014 New firmware release - on a Saturday? Sounds unlikely.
luigi bertolotti Posted May 24, 2014 Share #24 Posted May 24, 2014 New firmware release - on a Saturday? Sounds unlikely. Could have sense... released Friday evening... available for download Saturday morning (my Software partner always releases fixpacks identified by # of week, typically available for download on Firiday night - Saturday) ; ...but doesn't look to be available.... intermediatic Posted May 24, 2014 Share #25 Posted May 24, 2014 The article stated it was M(ay) 2 4 (0) day Then again, that seems like a pretty cheap stunt so I kind of doubt it. If it is ready why not let us have it early?
satijntje Posted May 24, 2014 Share #26 Posted May 24, 2014 I assume that Leica has other things in their mind at this moment then releasing software:cool:
marknorton Posted May 24, 2014 Share #27 Posted May 24, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Well there's an Open Day at the new HQ in Wetzlar; I was tempted to zip over there but it's a bank holiday weekend in the UK and it just seemed too much trouble. Better to sit at home and admire the torrential rain ;-(

edwardkaraa Posted May 24, 2014 Share #29 Posted May 24, 2014 To be fair, the rumor has never been confirmed by anyone at Leica, so our gullibility is the culprit here.
farnz Posted May 24, 2014 Share #30 Posted May 24, 2014 I hope the firmware upgrade enables the M240 to accept a spool of 35mm film like I've heard rumoured because that would be really handy especially when using the EVF and shooting Tri-X and FP4. digitalfx Posted May 24, 2014 Share #31 Posted May 24, 2014 To be fair, the rumor has never been confirmed by anyone at Leica, so our gullibility is the culprit here. when has Leica ever confirmed a rumor?

AlanJW Posted May 24, 2014 Share #33 Posted May 24, 2014 It's undoubted true. But, we must wait next 24th May. Or March (M). Or February (Firmware) Or August (Auto ISO). Or whenever Leica decides we should have it, assuming it is not vaporware.

genefama Posted May 24, 2014 Share #37 Posted May 24, 2014 Leica rarely does firmware updates—even in the case of a flash that has a built-in USB port expressly for that purpose. Besides, the only M updates needed are auto ISO, better colors, less tendency for highlights to blow out, and support for an EVF that can be used for focusing (preferably selectable-point). And none of these things are even rumored to be forthcoming.
chmilar Posted May 24, 2014 Share #38 Posted May 24, 2014 Bug fixes are also needed. Such as erasing bracketing settings in presets when powering off.
