bocaburger Posted April 21, 2014 Share #21 Posted April 21, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Don't have an M240 (yet ), still trying to wring the life out of my M9. But I have a IIIa, IIIf BD, 2 x M4. IIIf is collector-worthy, the others are "user" condition and will stay in my possession even if only for display and honor of their years of exemplary service and the many trips on which they accompanied me. Used to have: M3, M42, M4P, M6, M7, MP, R6, R6.2, R7, R8. All great, wonderful cameras, but were more like short-term dalliances. In non-Leicas, holy cow! I can't even list them all. Couple Rolleiflexes, full set of Nikon Ftn and contemporary lenses, Speed Graphic, Rollei 35S. All of them served me well in my years shooting film. Currently have a couple of the original Canon 5D bodies, never really saw the need to upgrade, they still work and do the job I need them to.

Ecar Posted April 21, 2014 Share #28 Posted April 21, 2014 Decided to go all-digital a few years ago. Sold M6, M7, R4, R6 and all R lenses. Currently have M8, M8.2, M9, M9-P, M240 and MM. Will likely keep all of them, if only for sentimental reasons... I have also kept a Canon 5DII for those instances where I need a DSLR.
tookaphotoof Posted April 21, 2014 Share #29 Posted April 21, 2014 I only recently got myself the M240. My first Leica was the M6. For that reason alone I won't sell it ever. As I loved the shooting with the rangefinder I got myself an MP not long after that. Of the three it is my favourite, although I also like the M240 a lot. I also have a Panasonic LX5. Love the lens, but I can't seem to bond with it. Don't like the colour output and the high iso. Sold my 5D2 although I've kept the lenses. I'll probably get myself a dslr back for wildlife and motorsports again, next year. We'll see what Canon has to offer me for that by then.

ynp Posted April 21, 2014 Share #34 Posted April 21, 2014 very strange set of priorities Yes:-) But... I bought my f1.2 Noctilux for $US880.00 in 1998 and the 35/1.4AA for $US 1200.00 in about 2000. Konica 50/1.2 and Konica 60/1.2 were bought when nobody wanted them. Leica lenses are an investment by the end of the day. jdsheepdog Posted April 21, 2014 Share #36 Posted April 21, 2014 III F, with 35 mm, and B & W as a "sunny 16" carry round camera. M3, as object of venerated and near religious significance, with C41 in it, sadly less used than it used to be. M 240, which I find I use much like the M3, and causes me wonder at all of the EVF and live view features that I find I hardly use, and that cause such controversy. Maybe I am simply too used to a manual camera. Previously: M8 (sold to help finance an MP to take to the tropics, which was in turn sold to help finance the M240.
