IWC Doppel Posted January 31, 2015 Share #41 Posted January 31, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is worth a bump for those on a 35mm journey, seems as though quite a few are at the moment

otto.f Posted January 31, 2015 Share #42 Posted January 31, 2015 "All used without lens shades". What a pity.
TRIago Posted January 31, 2015 Share #43 Posted January 31, 2015 The best ones for me are 35mm Summicron Asph and the Summicron V1. Didn't really like the Cron v4.
freitz Posted February 1, 2015 Share #44 Posted February 1, 2015 For my style of shooting I prefer the 35 FLE 1.4... Interesting read an the first two shots where interesting. The 35 ASPH at 1.4 and the 35 FLE at 1.4 I appears the 35FLE has a slightly closer focusing distance or the background isolation is better. Also felt it was noticeably sharper. Nice write up. I find it hard to justify a second 35mm lens without picking up a 50 but the 35 cron ASPH has a nice calling.
kaspart Posted February 2, 2015 Author Share #45 Posted February 2, 2015 The 35 ASPH at 1.4 and the 35 FLE at 1.4 Please note that the older 1.4 is actually the pre-asph and not the ASPH version.
freitz Posted February 2, 2015 Share #46 Posted February 2, 2015 Please note that the older 1.4 is actually the pre-asph and not the ASPH version. Gotcha, Still.. big difference between that an the FLE version. Interesting to see how the ASPH vs FLE does.
batmobile Posted February 3, 2015 Share #47 Posted February 3, 2015 Advertisement (gone after registration) The 35mm Summarit-M is often forgotten about, but a tremendous performer. Most consistently great bokeh IMO of any Leica 35mm lenses, no focus shift or serious curvature and well made. My only complaint - a common one - is that focus is a bit too light. If I need speed, I have the CV 35 1.2II which gives even the FLE a run for its money at wider apertures and produces far nicer bokeh. It only downside is that its a tank.
james.liam Posted February 7, 2015 Share #48 Posted February 7, 2015 The comparison is to figure out which ones have to go. I simply can't justify keeping that many…. SO...what's going to go?
kaspart Posted February 9, 2015 Author Share #49 Posted February 9, 2015 SO...what's going to go? I sold the MATE, the Summicron asph and the Summaron. The FLE stays on the M9, the 'cron V4 on the MP, the 'cron V1 on the M2, the pre-asph 'lux on the M4 and the 'cron 40 on the CL…...

Would love to hear your thought process just before you go out for a shoot.... Now, which camera do I take? Dam, this one has no film in it.
