Iduna Posted March 7, 2014 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) My friend has a small garden, in a perfect shelter from all atrocities of cold and nasty blowing winds. With a tripod I could not reach down to these small blossoms ithout trampling on small hedges. So nothing else helped but kneeling down, shoot handheld and placing a reflector to give some light from a hazy, almost overcast morning sky. All with Olympus OMD EM5 + R 60 mm macro Elmarit. platypus Posted March 8, 2014 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2014 Choosing to photograph these exquisite objects from up so close strangely transforms them into something else, almost abstract, quite other worldly and very beautiful.

Iduna Posted March 13, 2014 Author Share #15 Posted March 13, 2014 Gianluca, how nice of you to have discovered the different approach. I am happy if the "feeling" is being transmitted. Thanks for your comment.
allamande Posted March 14, 2014 Share #16 Posted March 14, 2014 Iduna, your interpretation of these beauties remind me of O'Keeffe's approach to painting flowers. They are larger than life and have an altogether transforming effect. Well done! Ece
Iduna Posted March 14, 2014 Author Share #17 Posted March 14, 2014 Ece, nice, you found words for what I wanted to express. Exactly - In fact they were so small and all looked down so from above it would have been nothing and I wanted to know what is below shimmering. There were also blewish dark ones which were extremely difficult to get but I'll post one perhaps. Thanks for your nice comment, it is most welcome and appreciated.
