Tasche für die LEICA M

Since half a year, I am the proud owner of a M and I like to have it always with me. Around the city, at the Christmas market, on vacation... Often I install only the 1:1.4 / 50 lens and pack the camera in a normal shoulder bag. Sometimes I do also add the 1:3.4 / 21 in my pocket and then it gets somehow not as nice carrying things around. Eventually I'd like to have with me a 90mm or 135mm lens - and now here is my question:

what kind of bags do you guys have for your M-equipment? Should not be a huge suitcase but discreet, still about organized so that not all is just flying around.

Thank you, look forward to your advice.

Billingham Hadley Small main compartment is good for 2 M bodies with lenses and middle slot will accommodate long barrelled M lens or two shorter ones back to back. Alternative is one M body with normal lens and 3 extra lenses with extras like VF/filters etc.

In addition two front pockets and back of main compartment will take keys/wallet/phone/batteries/reading glasses, list goes on.

Billingham bags are great bags - but they are very heavy compared to lots of other very good quality bags.

If you need the "country gamekeeper artisan" look then go for it - but you are getting a relatively bulky heavyweight canvas bag with heavy leather straps. All much tougher than one needs for such a relatively lightweight piece of kit.

If you need the designer look, then get it ... but, hey, you have a Leica. Isn't that designer enough already?

If you like some other brand go for it whether you carry Leica or a trout.

Big Bilinghams are heavier than small ones, Hadley Small is just under 800g, doubt you would find lighter bag of the similar grade and size. Waterproof and almost bulletproof bag, not expensive as some other designer bags, ideal to carry valuable camera kit.

Hei guys and gals

maybe you have heard about the König litebag 2?

Well a smaller version, the litebag 1, made for the Leica M,

with attached lens plus 2 others is in the making and will be available in January.

It will be the same as the litebag 2 only smaller.

My X-mas present will arrive belated.

cheers

I don't like the typical photo bags..so my choice:

Aunts&Uncles Hunter

Leica M + lense attached + 2nd lense in bag

which model exactly do you have? They seem to do great stuff. Can you post a picture with your equipment inside? Thanks!

Thanks for all the recommendations. Wow, there is lots of great bags for cameras out there. I decided finally to take the Dothebag Mono _04. It is very compact but I love small lugagge. It is a really smart bag, doesn´t look like a phot bag, has great thick leather all over, good quality and lots of small compartments to fit in charger, filters etc. Also an iPad fits in easily and my 2 lenses (50mm/21mm). I want to add a 90 or 135mm lens as well and i can both bring them in this bag as well. Ok, then it´s filled up to the roof...

Here are some pictures of the bag and one with my self on it to judge the size:

Thanks very much for bringing the dothebag mono 04 to my attention. I got one for myself in Berlin last Saturday. It's an awesome bag for a body and 28, 35, 50 set-up including charger, battery, EVF and OUFRO. Very nice due to its smaller size compared to the 09 which I had tested last year. Plus I liked the shopping experience at Fotopioniere on Karl-Marx-Allee 87 a lot :)

Best regards,

Norbert

I'd still go for a cheap canvas bag and make my one lining. The last thing I want people to think is "Hey - there's someone with an expensive camera..." For me, Hadley's and the like are definitely out.

I use a Troop messenger a lot of the time. Works well:
