Quite, it will have instead the quirks, warts, "reliability" and CS of a Leica...

They say Pansonic manufactures the body and the zooms and Leica the primes. So there is hope.....:)

Maybe that is exactly the plan, keep the M line untouched, re-use the R Mount with AF enhancement, would that make sense T AS sucessor oft R?

The R system is dead; there will be no successor. Reusing the R mount would only make sense for a FF DSLR system – and I am reasonably sure Leica won’t go that route –, not for a mirrorless camera. Leica’s solution for R lenses is the M (and possibly its successors) and I don’t think they are looking for yet another solution.

Still the bit about ‘keep the M line untouched’ rings true.

‘They’ say the darndest things … But how would ‘they’ know?

Now don't go polluting this discussion with distracting information about what Leica is actually going to do. That is so much less interesting :-)

Thanks Michael! I am sure you will be right, like I wrote, I was just hoping&dreaming along ;-)

Well, as long as the sales of the T series will earn enough money for Leica to survive and inovate (! I.e. improve and solve the existing quirks in the M series), I am happy :-)

The X line has no M adapter and the T line won't need one to exist either.

Yes, strictly speaking it is very probable that it won't NEED it , but if the T will be what we are speculating, an M adapter will provide addon sales to people like US... ;) ; of course it could probably be made by 3rd parties... but (depending on the cost) Leica could even give a certain degree of "intelligence" to it (6 bit reading with trasmission of the info to the body... could be complex or not too much, depending on the specs of the new mount)

If Fuji can do it, I am sure Leica...
