My issue right now is I got so used to the MM, I'm having a hard time shooting in color. Good problems to have.

I like the M, I've shot less than 100 frames with it and a lot so far have been color checker charts for calibration, but I'm liking what I'm seeing. Not sure if I'm parting with my M9 yet. :).

I think someone mentioned earlier that the M was good, but the MM was a statement. In the real world of not looking at my B & W printed images with a magnifying glass I would have difficulty picking which camera took which image.

I have both and have tested them repeatedly. At A3 it is impossible to tell the difference. There is much talk of the MM dynamic range and the variation of mid-range greys but I can't see it. If RAW files from both cameras are passed through Silver Efex Pro, I doubt if anyone could tell the difference. Having said all that, maybe there are those with a keener eye than mine, or perhaps better technique.

The bottom line is that, in my opinion and only my opinion, (and I'm aware of how little value that opinion has) for the majority of users, black and white with the M is very close to the MM, and for colour the M beats it every single time.

Too true.

B&W images are easy to get right with lots of digital cameras.

cheers Dave S :)

I vouch for Gordy's strap too. It looks very rugged and has just the right thickness for being comfortable at the same time being almost invisible.

BTW' date=' I don't have M 240 yet. But I have the strap ready. :) .... on M9[/quote']

I agree!

I like them so much that I have one for my M, MP, and tripod all with matching colours!

I've had my M about six months now. Learning to love it more and more each day. I've always felt more comfortable with a reflex camera, but I'm getting the hang of the rangefinder, and I think the EVF has helped. I have that new Leica-made EVF-5.:D Brings back memories of my IIIC.

I love my M, and love it even more with my newly acquired Summilux-M 50mm ASPH. I've lost a kidney and a limb. But oh boy <3 *drool*

Love my M too, here with a rather unusual lens and combination - a Macro-Elmarit-R 1:2,8/60, a Leica Macro -Adapter-R and a Leica APO-Extender-R 2x adapted all with a Novoflex adapter. This combination allows a maximum magnification factor of 2:1.

The half case is one of Angelo Pelle.
