Will you be bringing any slide film Gary?

I also think some ISO400 films could be useful. And if you're like me you can easily shoot such C41 films at EI100 and have them developed at box speed to give you great flexibility if you need the speed depending on the light.

No Philip, I hadn't planned on slide film, only B&W plus Colour neg.

And this is from a very big time user of slides a while back, almost exclusively slide in fact, shooting stock.

Too hard to get it processed, although if Ektachrome returns, I might, (big Might) look at some home E-6. MIGHT.

Absolutely Gary! You know I shoot the Leica S and X and M all digital mostly! But I really like film too and I've got the hang of my analog workflow (which I'll write an article about on my website after Madrid.)

I have a lot of younger followers on my instagram and website and they all love analog but the only 'analog' they know is 'lomography style' with those cross process things and faded film etc.

A lot of time these kids text me: "WOW IS THIS ANALOG?! HOW CAN IT BE SO SHARP AND THOSE COLOURS.... ETC."

Trying to write about that, and these 5 days Madrid seemed like a good moment to do so, and create some content for my article. :)

Awesome Jip, makes sense now you explain it.

We can compare notes etc over coffee.

Not posting a film pic right now, just a photo of my latest acquisition, I'm going to have some fun with this.

Other news, I finally got around to buying a Mac with enough power to easily edit my photos, and have started scanning a huge backlog of prints and negs, I hope to start posting some soon. :)

Excellent results, Philip.  I love the rich tonal range of the Ektar as well as the colors, of course.

I hope you'll indulge me as we return to the Ockenburgh forest. This is on Ektar 100, as previously using the 80 Planar and extension rings (and as always shot handheld). On the lower two I metered away from the light to try to get a more or less accurate exposure of the flower. I wanted to shoot from below and up into the light. I always rely on the built-in meter which is extremely accurate. That said, the metering area is large (for spot metering one needs the 205 model) so in use it's similar in some ways to a Leica M.

Hi Gerry - Hope you are on the up and up in terms of your recovery.  Wishing you the best of health and good times.  Very nice photo - thanks for sharing!

Following requests  made when I posted regarding scans I have made during my enforced slow-down due to ill-health, here is one of my favourites taken in the Gambia using Fujichrome 50iso film in 2000. I am afraid I have no technical details, but do know at that time I was shooting mostly with a Leica M6 and 50mm Summicron f2. I love the way the early morning light has been rendered in this image of a group of village girls waiting for the bus to take them to the high school. I have no details of exposure etc. except that I would have shot at 50iso.

Scanning was using a Plustek 8200i using Silverfast software.

Comments/questions welcome

The firs is particularly stunning, Richard.  Love the compositions and vantage point.

Really nice, Phil.  Not easy to get that texture in the snow.  You've done a masterful job.

One from a trip my family made to England and Scotland several years ago. I've just put a print of this one on the wall at home:
