GNU the big band ?

Nice pictures and thanks

Henry

Yes, this was the guitar player in a band I was in at the time, where I was the bass player (I dabble with some guitar, bass, and drums - I was a music major in college - percussion). This guy was a somewhat renowned guitar player out of DC in the 80s from a punk band called Black Market Baby.

Taken a few steps back....

Which do you prefer?  I like the ___ one better...

First one for me by a long shot. No bull____. I like how it is so "in your face" and the other one seems pedestrian in comparison.

Yep. Definitely the first one for me as well. No comparison. So much more energy. I usually read the forum in reverse, and when I saw the second I liked it a lot, and read the general consensus  on the liking of the second image better... then... I saw the first one, and I immediately thought that composition was more striking for the subject matter, so much so that I have to agree completely with stray cat on this one. The second image is pedestrian in comparison.

47 reasons why nothing beats film  ;)

I like my digital workflow - nothing to argue against

but who mayn of you think anyone can read a present file

in 47 years ?

Huh ?

Don't forget you depend on your computer , your software etc....

difficult to say today what will happen :D  for this binary 1 and 0 system

may be , more computer at all , who knows ?

In the meantime , I keep all my films and slides warm to show and leave them to

my little children :)

Best

H.

Thanks a lot, Phil and gnuyork - I agree with you guys on this one.  My only regret is that I clipped the horns on the close up one.  I guess I am around that area so much and see so many thousands of people photograph this bull on a daily basis that the pedestrian photo seems to me run-of-the-mill :)

Very nice, Phil.  Very interesting insight into these kids' lives.  Seems like it was a fun workshop.

Nice ones of the beach, Henry.  Great blues.  Feel free to add to the Beach thread :)

Very nice colors from the Portra 400.  For me, this is all about the panels of great colors and really nothing about the birds - which I wouldn't have even noticed but for your hint!  Love the colors

I think the first one is cool, very in your face, though I agree with you it's a shame the horns were cut (and the legs of the person behind disturb a little bit too). I think I prefer the one where you are a few steps back though because it is very dynamic; it actually looks as if the bull is skidding as it is turning towards you :D

I think the reproduction of music (for me classical) and the reproduction of image

are very similar . People looks now for immediate and cheap product

They bought CD and digital camera (smartphone) but the quality is not there.

Every day ,  I listen to my vinyl records and I ask myself why the reproduction degrades

and loses its soul like now . Why go to what is less good  ?

Sad time
