Great shot, J-M. I just love that hovering ping pong ball and the kids' gazes.

The close up range is then usable with live view, no RF coupling anymore below 1m .

Two more abstracts. Easy to shoot, I know, but I'm posting what I'm currently scanning. These are from one of my very first rolls with the 203FE and 80 Planar in early 2015. Expired Provia 400X, as always wet scanned on the 9000.

Really superb snow picture Stefan.

Film is the best support (not one of....) for snow and fog and rain due to grains

of film that well reproduce ice crystals (snow) and micro water droplets (fog)

not the cas with smoothed pixels.

Thanks for sharing

Dear film lovers and Leica M3 & M6 TTL Users, I just love this Thread. Best wishes for the New Year from a user in South Wales, UK. I am not sure that my shots using Kodak Portra 400 and Ilford XP2 are up to your impeccable standards but I'd like to make a small contribution. I too stick with2710c5ad9ad7fb02cf71b7dde45d367d.jpg916d33f238eb536136a24f841e2f25dc.jpg27f8d31c9ec8e49607560ba7b699de4b.jpg Tetenal C41 processing and scan with a Plustek 8200i.

Good point. A somewhat related point: There have been a good number of Portra 400 shots here, including mine, that show a wide range of color rendition. This is all done with a hybrid workflow, the color correction and processing being done digitally. Of course color negative film, when printing in the dark room, requires color correction and contrast control. While different films have different color looks, doing this processing digitally, it seems to me, facilitates a greater range of color rendition. For example, some of the Portra 400 shots above are somewhat reminiscent of Kodachrome.

The color negative prints one used to have done "at the drugstore" were based on an average color correction and it would take a "custom print" to get the look one really wanted. When I last shot color film some ten years ago, I stuck to transparency film because I felt that I didn't have a good "color memory" for scannning; but also because earlier, when I had done color darkroom printing, I used Cibachrome — I liked the colors —which is printed from slide film. Now, I have no problem using color negative print because color correction is so much easier digitally than using color filters in the darkroom, at least for me.

I have the possibility to print in color in my Leica Store Lab in 30x40 and also

in 10x15 in silver Kodak paper, not ink jet.

For b&w it's easier and I also print in silver paper

The result is better  than scan for posting here.

A few from Medieval Times in Los Angeles.

I wasn't expecting it be quite so dark, with EI400 film and 28mm Summicron I got what I got.

What sorcery is this?

Thanks Henry for your welcome. Yes I develop using C41 Tetenal myself in the kitchen using a small water bath at 30C for good control. The films dry over our bath on a temporary line using suction caps, I am fortunate to have a tolerant wife! I've been shooting film again for the last 2 years.

In the shots posted I used M3 for the colour shot, but I was using 3 lenses that day, the Summarit 50/1.5, Tele- Elmarit 90/2.8 and 135/3.4 APO-TELYT. I think the colour shot was the Summarit at f22 at about 1/500. Deliberately under exposed. The second of my daughter may have been with the Summarit-M 35/2.4 on the M6 TTL . The little family by the stream was taken with the M6 TTL.

I also love another shot in colour that day taken with the APO-TELYT but it is completely self indulgent and I often get asked why I shot it, but I loved the colours. I'll attach it now if I can.

Christoph, very nice color in this last picture and good home work for C41 .

I also develop myself and I also use 30°C

M 135 Apo Telyt lens is my preference although it is better with my 3 SLR Leica

easier to focus (I have R 135 Elmar and R 90 Cron) .

There is one thing that those among you gentleman who kept shooting in digital is "nature",

flowers for example . Compare between digit and film , a faithful color it shows you !
Edges and lines are soft not cutting ! These two photos are not corrected
