It was taken in 1986 If you need encouragement, here you have it: I can relate to pictures like the one you posted, and I know that many more feel the same. The simplicity you refer to is still there today and wasn’t there when you took it. Because back then, everything was complicated too. In hindsight, things seem to be simple, and explainable as we understand them now. I photograph, always done it to get the grips of what‘s going on beneath the surface. The camera works as a polygraph. Please follow up that work. It makes tons of sense. 4

The small path is more visible in color adding depth. The colors are gorgeous too and the top of the tree feel less threatening, matching the mood. Really beautiful, thanks for sharing!

Sparkassenkunde Posted May 21, 2023 Share #86693  Posted May 21, 2023 I also prefer the black&white version! I especially dislike the upper part where the branches meet the sky - the hemline looks somehow unnatural.

I prefer the B&W - the scene (especially vegetation and rocks) looks a bit too blue. I can't be too critical - I have posted enough colour scans of film where later I've been dissatisfied with the colours!

Interesting observation/opinion. In theory, when done right, film's colours should be on par with digital, even pleasing more. The issue is here the digitisation process, the conversion to a digital positive and the colour timing. But that's the same challenge when scanning film for film postproduction (movies). I thought of passing colour film. But as I enjoy shooting the M4P and B&W so much, I'm thinking of going down that rabbit hole and developing colour as well. But I won't shoot Portra and the like but rather shoot Kodak Vision because I have experience with these stocks. My only question is whether to develop C41 and get more contrast or develop ENC2 and get logarithmic scans; in terms of colour, that should be irrelevant.
