today, picking up an M4 from the late 1960s and Canon and Nikon SLRs of similar vintage, well the difference in price is more than simply the red dot. The quality difference after 45 odd years shows through. IMHO. And I was, at the time, a firm believer in the SLR, after all the Leica was my dad's camera. The 60s, generation gap, being modern . . . . . well you had to be there. :D

Make it an optical one, as it's a fixed lens there's no great need for the EVF, and I'd buy one .

I do think this is a possibility. An RX1 type Leica using much of the M240 technology. I think it would need live-view, auto focus and an EVF (probably an add-on) for composition and manual focus (with peaking) override.

Perhaps it was never driven and sit in your Jay Leno style garage most of the time? why bother to adjust its brakes anyway ... for cosmetic reasons? :p

Look here. Two of the vehicles. I don't have a garage. I will after the house is paid off.

This had to be about the longest thread on the forum. Almost 1,000 replies and many side trips along the way.:D

Perhaps, but not the most discussed topic....there are probably 1,000 bag threads, each with its own side trips. Can't wait for the mini bag threads.

The irony is that there is no point A and point B so a thread like this is bound to wander. Sometimes you discover things by wandering. Other times you just get lost.
