Advertisement Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Hi LeicaPassion, Take a look here APO 50 delivery status. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
thighslapper Posted June 14, 2014 Share #302 Posted June 14, 2014 Well...no. My (pre-recall) version of this lens is just pleasantly firm to focus, certainly no more "stiff" than my 35Lux. I would definitely notice if it were as I have a somewhat compromised left hand and so I am very aware of sticky focussing rings and of very fat lenses, for instance I find the 0.95 Noctilux a bit of a chore to focus as it is so rotund. Mine is silky smooth..... and just the right compromise between ease of use but not so easy that it shifts inadvertently. I fact I'd rate it the best of any of my M lenses.... I've had 3 50/1.4's and all were too stiff for my liking .....

I fact I'd rate it the best of any of my M lenses..... I absolutely concur with your description and with your rating of this lens. Having looked up the purchase date of my copy yesterday I was mildly surprised to see that I have owned it for just a couple of weeks short of a year....how time flies when you are having fun! AlanJW Posted June 16, 2014 Share #305 Posted June 16, 2014 Has anyone in the US gotten an APO 50 within the last couple of months? I am waiting now 9 months and nobody, whether my dealer or Leica US seems to have any idea of when any -- even one -- might get delivered.
LeicaPassion Posted June 17, 2014 Share #306 Posted June 17, 2014 One appeared on the website of a small US dealer last month. I jumped for it.
horosu Posted June 17, 2014 Share #307 Posted June 17, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) Speaking of the APO: the only thing that bothers me is the loose aperture ring. The aperture changes at the slightest touch. Is that a norm? My 35 FLE has the perfect compromise in that respect: not too loose, not too tight. What are yours like? Thanks, Horea

I have the same with my new APO-75 compared to 35 FLE - like the FLE much more for this thomas

OTOH, my 50 Lux ASPH is just the opposite. Why can't Leica have some consistency here?

I believe I saw that Schouten in the Netherlands had 5 in stock, including two with consequtive serial numbers, but he may charge a premium I think. thomaswchapaman Posted June 25, 2014 Share #317 Posted June 25, 2014 Hi, just seen one at leader electronics in Geneva airport. Priced at £4850 aprox. I was tempted but I have one on order with Harrison's. So if anyone is passing it could be a good opportunity.
SiOnara Posted June 25, 2014 Share #318 Posted June 25, 2014 I'm 8th on the list at Harrisons. Think the 1st person on the list has been waiting since March 2013!

If one has the 'where with all', then one has two more than necessary… ...words, that is (wherewithal). Jeff
