Do Digilux 2 photos have distinctive look?

How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “c

 When I look back over my Digilux 2 photos, I fall in love  with that camera all over again. There is certainly something to be said about the Leica photos....and for me...it's the softness of the highlights that pulls me into the photo. I know that everyone has their own take on it, but that's mine.  I may have posted this photo  a long time ago, but it brings home my meaning. Hopefully, it translated well from my screen to yours.

I can understand why!  The subtle and gradual change and roll-off of tones is part of the D2's magic for me too.  I still have both of mine and they get out for a spin from time to time.  I thought about moving to a Q for a while, which is often touted as the D2's successor, but for all the Q does and the excellent camera that it is I'm glad I stayed with the D2.

Well done, Graham. Try poking the lens through a dark cloth to cut out reflections.
