My bet is that there will be no M10 this year. If there is someting new it will be called something else. But what? The M is mirrorless, so will it be the SN? (spiegeln nicht)

Mirrorless would be "spiegellose" I think. But then, the M is already "spiegellose"...

Very precise and highly scientific calculation (PM me for the underlying model) shows that it will cost £ 8305.648573.

Conversion to other currencies remains more speculative, especially with our Greek, Italian, Spanish and German friends preparing to throw sand into the machine.

A mirrorless rangefinder? How does it work, with laser? :p;)

What would be funny is they might introduce a rangefinderless "rangefinder" ... after all, many folks are simply fond of the style - not its substance. :-)

IF they announce the M10 (or whatever they name the next generation digital rangefinder), my guess is it will be around $8,500. I think they need to keep it in the ballpark of the M9 as they will need many, many M9 owners to upgrade. The number of non-rangefinder photographers out there that are willing to pay more than what a Canon EOS 1DX costs for a rangefinder would seem to be limited.

I seriously think the price will be outrageous again.

The price is the price. Calling it "outrageous", "astronomical", "ridiculous", or "exorbitant" simply indicates that you would like it to be cheaper. But in the end the price is the price. You will either pay it or you won't.

Pete.
