No restoration. It's sitting in a drawer in my office. The diaphragm fins are missing. I picked up the Jupiter to use for now while I decide what I want to do. I really like the collapsible feature, but newer lenses have improved coating. Alas current finances will not permit both...

Here's my tarted-up IIIf RD --

Doesn't so much take your eye, as maybe poke it?

All its siblings that live here dress very conservatively; we blame this on a possibly misspent youth.

Does the Nr 6 6 _ _ 6 6 serial number, mean that the middle/missing two digits have been filled?

May I answer quickly ?

It is common practice to "photoshop out" some of the serial when posting camera portraits to prevent the unscrupulous using the picture on an auction site to fraudulently sell a camera they do not own or to use the numbers on a fake body. Andy has chosen to obliterate selectively for, good, effect :)

Thank you Chris,

Now I understand, (the reason for the missing digits.)

Although I do find the argument a bit bizarre, since it wouldn't nullify the, (inappropriatte), usage of your image, (if one is concerned about such happenings, it would seem more appropriate to apply a copyright or watermark, (similar to JC.))

Count me in. I regularily use LTM gear and sometimes prefer it over my M gear for the sheer pleasure of using these marvels. I own 2x IIIg, 1X IIIf, 1 X IIIa sync. and a couple of old and new LTM lenses, including the late 90's Summicrons 2/50 and 2/35 asph. and an early 2/90 (with the M ring removed). For me, it's colour photography with digital cameras exclusively and BW work with whatever takes film and is old enough for me.
