iShutterbug Posted January 6, 2009 Share #322 Posted January 6, 2009 Hi, all, I've posted pictures of my ii on this forum and it was the last camera I shot with in 2008. Here are some shots with Elmar 5cm and Summaron 3.5cm: ishutterbug's photos- powered by SmugMug They are only snapshots but I was also testing all the shutter speeds on the camera and they seem to be okay. The day before, December 30, 2008, I spent a fun day shooting wildlife with my "Bokeh King" lens you might enjoy. amoebahydra Posted January 14, 2009 Share #325 Posted January 14, 2009 Here are mine IIIc, IIIf, and IIIg. Tropical case Elmar 1:3.5 f=5cm, Elmar 1:4 F=9cm, Elmar 1:4 f=9cmSummicron 1:2 f=5cm
jc_braconi Posted January 14, 2009 Share #326 Posted January 14, 2009 Hello, OK for the IIIg no doubt about, now about the black one looks as a III. the chrome can be a IIIc as the IIIf do not have screw to hold the top plate.
aauckland Posted January 14, 2009 Share #327 Posted January 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes JC, Although it is not uncommon to see the IIIf's with top plate screws, (also the bottom plate lock looks more IIIf than IIIc.) .....and just to confuse the III might be an F, (I cannot make out top shutter speed.) Regards Alan
jc_braconi Posted January 14, 2009 Share #328 Posted January 14, 2009 .....and just to confuse the III might be an F, (I cannot make out top shutter speed.) Regards Alan it stops at 500 and have the diopter correction so stays at a III but as we cannot see the serial number it can be a II upgraded to III for the chrome we cannot see if it is flash sync.and s/n
aauckland Posted January 14, 2009 Share #329 Posted January 14, 2009 A possible check JC, ....since the IIIf has the larger shutter dial, ......is to lay a IIIc, at the side of a IIIf, (positioned as in the photograph), and try to ascertain which shutter dial matches the photograph. Regards Alan -----------
jc_braconi Posted January 14, 2009 Share #330 Posted January 14, 2009 Checking as you suggested it seems to be a IIIf both about the shutter dial and the bottom plate.
aauckland Posted January 14, 2009 Share #331 Posted January 14, 2009 Leica E with 28mm Sorry about the VC lens, (and removing the existing Leica Finder), ....but I do find this Leica Standard has become my most delightful "can always carry" LTM. PS The VC 28/3.5 is a magnificant lens, ...sharp, distortion free, and excellent build quality. Regards Alan Welcome, dear visitor! amoebahydra Posted January 15, 2009 Share #332 Posted January 15, 2009 Hello,OK for the IIIg no doubt about, now about the black one looks as a III. the chrome can be a IIIc as the IIIf do not have screw to hold the top plate. The black is a 1935's III and the chrome is a 1952/53's red dial IIIf.

As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! a II (Model D) from 1935; nothing special, just unchanged and easygoing. Today I got it back from competent service where it was cleaned and adjusted; the rangefinder now looks as clear as only glass can look. Twe nickel Elmar from 1932, which was coated, will help me exploring the world in black and white. aauckland Posted January 23, 2009 Share #335 Posted January 23, 2009 More Leica II, (c.1935), pictures. I just love the Nickel hardware with the black enamel paint. The Elmar, with flat nose, ER case is so carriable, ...although the 35 VC tends to be used most often. Regards Alan Leica IIIg + Asph 35/2 Cron, with Leica 35 finder.
