gwg Posted June 8, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 8, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been looking everywhere on the net to find the bag for the Summaron 35/2.8 - any ideas where I could be in luck would be most appreciated! Thank you in advance!
Advertisement Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Hi gwg, Take a look here Summaron 35/2.8 bag. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
doubice Posted June 8, 2010 Share #2 Posted June 8, 2010 (edited) Considering that the lens has been discontinued for close to 40 years and that a 'bag' was never available for it, you may have a hard time finding one... Unless you are referring to the 'goggled' M3 version of the lens - there used to be a half-moon shaped hard leather case which appears on eBay from time to time. Why not look for a generic soft pouch if that is what you mean by 'the bag'? Best, Jan Edited June 8, 2010 by doubice
gwg Posted June 8, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted June 8, 2010 Very true. I did mean the pouch for the M3 version, which I have only seen in pictures. I feel like a generic pouch might not really protect the goggles themselves very much, as they would end up rubbing against the pouch if not held in place, as they have no caps...? Thank you for your suggestion on Ebay - I'll keep a look out there for now!
luigi bertolotti Posted June 8, 2010 Share #4 Posted June 8, 2010 14552 is its code ... the "half moon" leather bag (nice definition, Jan !) is not so difficult to find ... I have a pair of them (slightly different) and are definitely the best way to store and carry goggled lenses... usual superb quality of Leitz leather accessories of the '50s/'60s
gwg Posted June 8, 2010 Author Share #5 Posted June 8, 2010 Excellent, thank you very much! I've set the Ebay search agent to work!
tobey bilek Posted June 8, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 8, 2010 Caution against storing optics in leather long term. Leather can breed all kinds of nasties.
