Arif Posted May 15, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 15, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Not sure if it helps to post these since the conversion to SRGB and the downsizing takes away many quality elements but here are some recent handheld shots taken with the S2 at the Thai Festival in Tokyo. Very little post processing was done in Adobe Camera Raw other than adding slight vignetting and using an x-rite outdoors profile that I created. All taken with the 70mm at ISO 160 (first at F4.8 and last three at F3.4). Nothing artistic but just to show some of the pictures from the S2 as requested by forum members. robert_parker Posted May 15, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 15, 2010 I particularly like the first and third images- the colour of the proifile you've used and the flesh tones seem excellent on my monitor.
Arif Posted May 16, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted May 16, 2010 I love the vibrant yet natural looking colors. I can imagine just how great these images look with the original file. Thank you Mark! I am very happy with the skin tones which some people had issues with earlier. I find that the S2 requires very little post processing. I am using ACR but not sure if LR is better. I feel this is good enough for me at the moment (keeps me out taking pictures more than in front of the computer

Arif Posted May 17, 2010 Author Share #14 Posted May 17, 2010 The first and third for me too----super. Thank you very much Virgil. It's # 3 for me. Excellent image quality. Have you experimented with B&W? The colors are vibrant in all your shots. Thank you Wilfredo. Here is a quick B&W conversion in Silver Efex. If I had a little more time, I could probably experiment more. My objective was to show the skin tones and the quality. alun Posted May 20, 2010 Share #15 Posted May 20, 2010 'Thai babes'? For God's sake, these are kids. What I see is child-sexualisation and issues of somewhat greater interest than 'image quality' and the S2. It seems the more expensive the tool the less critical analysis of the picture *content* it produces...

I am saddened by the accusation and I agree that the choice of words on my part was in very poor taste. I am sorry to have offended you. DRabbit Posted May 20, 2010 Share #20 Posted May 20, 2010 These are some BEAUTIFUL photos... the color is just amazing! As for the title, don't sweat it... I took it as a play on words... "Thai Babes"... and then I see photos of "Thai Babies"...
