    My Bride

pretty shot, but i think because the color is a bit yellow, id convert to B/W.
  8. i too am on the fence about the PP. however it seems like you have a vision that isnt quite there yet. i encourage you to keep going!
  9. agree great portrait. he looks happy. i dont understand why so many NYCers look so happy and alive when its so miserable to live there. by this i mean of course the weather etc. although i did look at a house in NJ. so you never know
  10. he could be a friar! hes a lovely face and he seems very neat. it looks like he was very flattered to have his picture taken. hes participating with his presence. well done to bring this out of him. why are people asking if youre ok? are you? were you not?
  11. larry, i just posted in Bens thread that i dont want to shoot film! ugh the processing! but then i look at your stuff from the vintage series and im reminded of the fun of film. in the 90s when i lived in nyc, i would shoot and then at night before the poker game drop off. because my lab was open til midnight i could pick up late. i loved that. by the time midnight rolled around i was certain that the best photo ever taken was in that batch. ofcourse this is color im speaking of, and mostly for work so it was paid for. my labs fees were absurd.
  12. love the color im seeing in this series. i think i would crop this one to the top of the wall. that way my eye goes to her rather than off to the lamppost.
  13. beautiful. film? humm. dont want to process even though i love the look i dont want wet chemistry! love the hands up in the air.
  14. its really love when you have to work to hear one another, well done.
  15. i can hear it, i can smell it. curious as to number of frames you made? love this.

    The Lovers

i think this is so wonderful. its so full. love it. i think alone in a crowd shots are difficult. mostly because even if you do get the subject perfectly, as you did here, if someone in the crowd makes a goofy face or, is mid blink, the shot isnt. my only crit? i think they are too sharp! never believed id say that, but because they are so tender i think they need not be so sharp, so early in the morning! you know what i mean/ anyway well done
  17. on one, i would of cloned out blurred yellow light. geometrically speaking its not balanced as a shape. but then im sensitive to that sort of thing
  18. i love them both. 1st. nice hanging of the dark field above his ears. draws one to the center of his eyes, which, is all he is. 2nd, i know why people feel its too harsh, it is! yet for me this works. its not becoming to the subject unless he moonlights as a rugged outdoors man. i dont know him and im not looking at it as a corporate portrait. so its all good. actually very Chuck Close.
  19. sorry i haven't been posting. I'm a little scattered that way.. anyway STILL shooting those skaters, only not as much. trying to make some sense out of that collection. Anyway looks like most are doing terrific work and it pleases me every time i visit here. This shot Jesus is doing a difficult trick. behind him is a set of stairs with a side rail. he starts at the top of the stairs, jumps them then turns as hes coming up to jump across the hump. hard to explain. but if he isnt in the position in the shot, he cant land it. hope everyone is well!
  20. i too love how close youre getting. keep going!
  21. ah fall. nice to see a capture where someone has found a quiet moment in the crowd
  22. amazing. love the light. great story
  23. ham and eggs, or, ham and egger? love seeing these if for nothing else remembering a time sans cell phones
