So any further suggestions for the mid 1920s luxury riddle car?

As always here some hints:

The maker started in the very early 1900s and another later very well known luxury car maker became a dealer of that brand and collected target group sales knowledge. Many owners were VIPs and even the boss of one of the later largest car makers of the world drove one as his private car.

Maybe a 20HP then. Given that is a coachbuilt body, I doubt it would be the smaller 15HP 4 cylinder car. In 1970, when I was selling a 1952 C type Jaguar, we took two straight eight coupés in part exchange, an 1930 AL Minerva and a 1929 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8A. The Minerva was a lovely car to drive, a bit like a Phantom II Rolls Royce, with similar accurate and reasonably weighted steering and performance from its 6.6 litre engine. The Isotta Fraschini was horrible, with exceeding heavy, vague and dead steering. We called up Giulio Ramponi in London who was the UK expert on these cars and he told us that the nasty steering was normal and that probably there was nothing wrong with it. Oddly the very imposing looking but unpleasant Isotta sold again almost immediately, whereas we eventually put the Minerva into a classic car auction, after zero interest in it.

Wilson, indeed 20 h.p. - this is a Minerva AB Torpedo from 1925.

hektor: correct !

Minerva offered electric starters and electric light long before many other companies. They had a very good reputation. Henry Ford was also a Minerva owner, in 1912 he bought a 16 h.p. limousine as his personal car.

Minerva started with bicycles and motorcycles, then switched to light small cars in the first decade and later became the "Belgian Rolls Royce" with their heavy luxury vehicles. In the early 1950s they license produced the Land Rover in Belgium before they stopped car production. The company might be dead but the name remains on todays bicycles.

(Just for those who are not familiar with belgian cars).

Wilson.

Other than the type, Wilson identified the essentials first.

I don't think I will have anything to post until I go on a classic car one day rally in September in my Morgan Three Wheeler, so I should be grateful Hektor if you could step into the breach.

Ford´s Minerva (and Renault and Rolls Royce). Read the old press articles, very amusing reading!

Charles Stewart Rolls of Rolls Royce was one of the british Minerva dealers.

If any of Henry Ford's staff needed to know where he was, they only needed to follow the smoke trail from the Knight sleeve valve engine that the Minervas of this period used. I was on an Edwardian Car rally some years ago in a Silver Ghost driving round Hyde Park and Kensington in London and the organisers asked us to drive in entry number order, so that folks could identify the cars from the programmes. The car in front was a 57HP (9 litres from around year 1911) limousine Daimler with a Knight sleeve valve engine. After about 5 minutes I was feeling ill from the oil smoke pouring out of the Daimler's exhaust and had to fake a problem, pretending I needed to change the petrol supply/pressurisation tap setting, which is located on the outside of left hand side frame, so as to drop further back in the queue.

It's kind of subtle, but I think a few parts might be missing.😁

Indeed, I miss the radar antenna, the 360° cameras, the navigation display, AC, the stereo and the power steering. What else?
