Thank you, Keith.

As you might guess, the owner has made changes under the bonnet.

To be frank I could tell because its twin sister lives about 80 metres from my house and I walk past it every day...

And also no doubt by hearing the sound of both Gale Halderman and Steve McQueen subterrain-iously rotating re this "Bullitt" so-called special edition 🙄

Oh, I don't know, Nigel. I'm not so sure that the chaps themselves would have objected to the offering in question. Personally I do think it looks rather fine 'in the flesh' although my better half wouldn't even consider having one on the drive. The 'original' is a more elegant (all things considered) design but the new one has a drama which is, perhaps, more in tune with today's market for such cars?

It certainly has 'Presence'...

Philip.

Well yes - but it'a bit like Aston Martin issuing every subsequent DB in Silver Birch with a red leather interior and calling it the 007,008,009 etc.

The link between that "Bullitt" and the movie is very tenuous at best...and it still probably doesn't go round corners...

TBH I was recently driving in San Francisco in a massive SUV and forgot how steep the hills were.

Approaching our hotel (The Fairmont at the top of the hill)  I stopped at the lights and could only see sky and the bonnet of the car - no idea if anyone was crossing the street in front of us...😬

When we were in the US Mustangs were among my preferred rentals. They offered space for two persons with „oversea“ lugguage and weren‘t too boring like most housewife rentals. They needed some extra attention on wet slippery roads though, no electronic aids in the early 2000s. One day I had fun with a looong drift on a bad surface wet junction. Seemed the local sheriff was behind me. At my next stop he said „You can’t be from here, I expected you‘ll crash the Mustang.“ … Germany, Sir! … „That explains a lot! Please slow down next time.“
