Oscar Merte Posted December 21, 2018 Share #11742 Posted December 21, 2018 Yes Stuart, an 8c 2300. To pick the year might be difficulty. What I know of the car is that it was raced at Le Mans in 1933 by Louis Chiron but did not finish. When no longer competitive in Europe it went to Australia, owned by the Jarvis family in Adelaide until the mid seventies. The next owner returned the 8c to its original French blue and on sold to a Evert Louwman in the Netherlands.

hektor Posted December 21, 2018 Share #11744 Posted December 21, 2018 I stayed out of this one as I knew the car well having competed in it for ten or so years. With the then owner we "did" the 1986 Mille Miglia retrospective. I may have posted photos from that event already.
NigelG Posted December 21, 2018 Share #11745 Posted December 21, 2018 Caught out by the colour. I think I remembered that rear detail but not in "Alfa Red" though the wheel/instruments looked right..... Anyone know whether it is currently raced? Louwman has run it in the Mille Miglia retrospective, and his daughter and son-in-law have taken it to Goodwood.

stuny Posted January 2, 2019 Share #11757 Posted January 2, 2019 Thank you, Oscar. I have no idea who made this car, but that's not the puzzle. It was made for a movie. What movie? NigelG Posted January 2, 2019 Share #11758 Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) Well it looks very “Jetsons-ish” but a touch crudely detailed - maybe something 70s like Sleeper? Or Logan’s Run? Edited January 2, 2019 by NigelG
stuny Posted January 3, 2019 Share #11759 Posted January 3, 2019 Well done, Nigel. It's from Woody Allen's, Sleeper. Your turn. Welcome, dear visitor! NigelG Posted January 3, 2019 Share #11760 Posted January 3, 2019 Well that was a bit of a guess....I was trying to think of sci fi films with a somewhat “wobbly” prop aesthetic.... I’m curious about the car next to it which has hints of William Towns lines....
