yuweimichael Posted March 1, 2010 Share #1 Posted March 1, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Everyone, I just got Leica x1 in hand today and I think that it is fun to take some shots with my new car Porsche Cayenne GTS to give everyone ideas about what Leica x1 will give you. It's shooting by AUTO MODE and saved by JPEG Fine. Process by Lightroom 2 with Original. stephan_w Posted March 2, 2010 Share #6 Posted March 2, 2010 LOL, sorry, no offence, but the Cayenne is the uglyest car you can actually buy (except the Panamera, maybe). And it was the car that made so much money for Porsche that they finally thought they could buy VW. And we know the results now:(.

It is good to express your thought of the car. So, no offence, may i ask what SUV on the market you think its beautiful than this Porsche Cayenne GTS Design Edition 3 ? Maybe Rangerover ? or X6 ? Well, we are here for the camera. Not the car. It is just a subject. Plus, if you think a 120K car is uglyest, then you should buy ...........maybe "custom made Ferrari SUV" ??? for yourself becasue there is no more choice on the market for you. This is ridiculous. 120k does not guarantee a good/beautiful car. Personally, I think Porsches are very ugly cars to begin with and the Cayenne being the worst of them all (perhaps the new 918 Hybrid is acceptable and a lovely exception). My dream SUV would be either the Rangerover or possibly a G Wagon, I love the angles on the G wagon, kind of reminds me of my Leica.
jsrockit Posted March 2, 2010 Share #10 Posted March 2, 2010 So, that X1 is kind of nice then huh?
stephan_w Posted March 3, 2010 Share #11 Posted March 3, 2010 I have no doubt that the Cayenne is an incredible good car, a sportscar that comes in the size of a truck. And I have to admit, that actually there is no luxury-SUV that looks really good. Especially the X6 is not good looking either, as is the Q7. The Range Rover is a class of its own, but I don't like the interior. If I had to spend so much money, I would choose something cheap and big like an amercan SUV and with the money left, I would buy a 911 But hey, the sound of the Cayenne is very cool and the performance is outstanding. diogenis Posted March 3, 2010 Share #12 Posted March 3, 2010 I wonder what is the necessity that drives someone to buy a car using a 5lt. V8 engine, except the obvious: that for helping mr. Porche and family upgrade their Lear Jets. No need to comment on design but such a big car? I am sure, not even Porche can exactly understand why this car sells. j_w_davies Posted March 3, 2010 Share #13 Posted March 3, 2010 Does this thread reflect the true position of Leica cameras in this century? Not used in war zones, or photo-journalism anymore, but as a luxury item to take photographs of the lifestyles of those who purchase luxury items. Doing Tina Barney's job for her. stephen.w Posted March 3, 2010 Share #14 Posted March 3, 2010 The original Speedster, Boxster and 911s are very nice cars. The Cayenne is pretty horrible, but then again so are all SUVs.
lct Posted March 3, 2010 Share #15 Posted March 3, 2010 What's funnier an X1 for a Porsche Cayenne or an S2 for a Fiat Panda?

leicafan! Posted March 3, 2010 Share #17 Posted March 3, 2010 Leica is becoming a status symbol rather than a photographic tool - this thread is embarassing.
carcam Posted March 3, 2010 Share #18 Posted March 3, 2010 Leica is becoming a status symbol rather than a photographic tool - this thread is embarassing. Porsches could never be a status symbol rather than a driving tool... What's so embarrasing? If you have the ability to buy what you want, what's it to you to criticize. nigelb Posted March 3, 2010 Share #19 Posted March 3, 2010 Porsches could never be a status symbol rather than a driving tool... What's so embarrasing? If you have the ability to buy what you want, what's it to you to criticize. We're all free to criticise, that's freedom of speech. Its just that this thread smacks of a 'look what I've got' thread in the guise of Test Shots....but no-one commented on the quality of the images. Wonder why? If your not careful I'll start posting pictures of my old VW Passat, I cleaned it today for the first time in a year.
earleygallery Posted March 3, 2010 Share #20 Posted March 3, 2010 Who said "if you've got it, flaunt it" ? Of course that's not a very British thing to do, so I will definately not be posting the photos of my chauffer dusting off my new Royce which I took with my gold plated limited edition Leica MP, just before being driven to lunch at the Ivy as the guest of my old friend Michael Winner.
