Advertisement Posted July 12, 2009 Posted July 12, 2009 Hi roguewave, Take a look here Jerry's world. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
biglouis Posted July 12, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 12, 2009 Lovely selective focus. Well done on a great capture. LouisB
JLV Posted July 12, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 12, 2009 Ben, Great pic with selective focus. Now that has been said, please could you kindly post the second pic that you obviously took with the focus on the background...I mean on the dog:D All the best, Jean-Luc
Bo_Lorentzen Posted July 13, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 13, 2009 Nice - gotta love the view over the river. No wonder he have a smile on his face.
Guest WPalank Posted July 13, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2009 Ben, Just great. Jerry's obviously a mature fellow, ahem... somewhat like ourselves. The selective focus leaves us wondering what the age of the wife is. Please don't tell, it can only ruin the dream.
vdb Posted July 13, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2009 Excellent expression. The mood is created by your use of selective focus, and this is brilliant. I can see enough, but not too much to ruin the mystery.
PhotoArchival Posted July 13, 2009 Share #7 Posted July 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey, it's Jerry Springer!!! Nice work man! Composition hits it out of the park, and you've done good with that light. ...you got a photo of the wife... ..................... Amado
semrich Posted July 13, 2009 Share #8 Posted July 13, 2009 It could be seen as a smug smile, and evident reasons for it, though most likely camera shy. I'm sure either way he would enjoy a print of this.
Iansky Posted July 13, 2009 Share #9 Posted July 13, 2009 Looks a little "Ruff" to me!! Great capture and judging by what looks like a wry smile on the lady (his wife?) in the background, I wonder what was being said?
stuny Posted July 13, 2009 Share #10 Posted July 13, 2009 Ben - Excellent, classic compositon, lovely light, color and selective focus.
Marquinius Posted July 13, 2009 Share #11 Posted July 13, 2009 Ben, Whatever: this proves that in order to get the right attention, you don't have to be in focus Great portrait: must be someone nice to join a glass of wine with and see the sun set. Rolo Posted July 14, 2009 Share #15 Posted July 14, 2009 Tremendous view, but not sure about the focus ! Maybe should have been on the middle ground. Nice photo, Ben.
mark_goode Posted July 14, 2009 Share #16 Posted July 14, 2009 Ben - great capture but I must confess I've enjoyed reading the comments almost as much. All of this about "mature gentlemen" and beautiful wives . . . it kinda resonates . . . :-)
roguewave Posted July 14, 2009 Author Share #17 Posted July 14, 2009 Ben - great capture but I must confess I've enjoyed reading the comments almost as much. All of this about "mature gentlemen" and beautiful wives . . . it kinda resonates . . . :-) If You Wanna Be Happy, by Jimmy Soul If you wanna be happy for the rest of your life Never make a pretty woman your wife So from my personal point of view Get an ugly girl to marry you A pretty woman makes her husband look small And very often causes his downfall As soon as he marries her, then she starts Doin' the things that will break his heart But if you make an ugly woman your wife You'll be happy for the rest of your life An ugly woman cooks your meals on time An she'll always give you peace of mind Don't let your friends say you have no taste Go ahead and marry anyway Though her face is ugly and her eyes don't match Take it from me, she's a better catch
epand56 Posted July 14, 2009 Share #18 Posted July 14, 2009 I'm damn late here, Ben, but i've really enjoied the picture as well as the thread. I like very much Jerry almost serious expression compared with the blurred large smile of his wife in the background. Looks like she and the dog were making fun of him.
