Advertisement Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Hi roguewave, Take a look here Louis Mendes. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Hodc Posted November 24, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 24, 2008 Ben, Holy cow, that's no Leica. What a great portret and dito camera. Soft tones this time, ad to the atmosphere of admiration.(both way's i guess) Harry
Neil Macmillan Posted November 24, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 24, 2008 It's certainly not a Leica, but it does have a red dot. This must be a Speed Graphic 1.0; not yet replaced with a tungsten dot.
Guest Plaubel Posted November 24, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 24, 2008 yeah,...but Louis got a ten times smarter camera :)
stuny Posted November 25, 2008 Share #5 Posted November 25, 2008 Ben - Not only a delightful pose and portrait, but he looks so amazingly warm and likeable. I think it could use just a touch of punching up.
echorec Posted November 25, 2008 Share #6 Posted November 25, 2008 Great portraits, I prefer #2 because of the larger space around him and the two guys in the background.
earleygallery Posted November 25, 2008 Share #7 Posted November 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Great shot! I've been looking at Speed Graphics recently, since I saw one in a camera shop window (a very old version and way too expensive). Watched a few on e bay, they go for good money, lots more than I'd expect - lots of demand for large format it seems. I'd love to try one out. It is a rather conspicuous camera though, if only he taped over that red dot, it'd make all the difference
Martin T-M Posted November 25, 2008 Share #8 Posted November 25, 2008 Ben, #2 for me too. Cool!
sharookh Posted November 25, 2008 Share #9 Posted November 25, 2008 Ben - Greta shot of a cool character. Would love to see your portrait by him! BTW, his camera looks like the prototype of the next "S3" with the 128 mp "super" ccd chip to be announced at the next Photkina!!
azzo Posted November 25, 2008 Share #10 Posted November 25, 2008 Ben, Two excellent portraits and I'm sure this gentleman would love a copy of each.

elansprint72 Posted November 25, 2008 Share #12 Posted November 25, 2008 Nice Pair! Never seen a Graflex with electronic flash before; mine uses BIG bulbs.
semrich Posted November 25, 2008 Share #13 Posted November 25, 2008 Ben, well done. I've seen other shots of him, he must get photographed as much as he takes photographs!
