Christophe -- please add my name to your list of those taking part in the Challenge. The lure of matching or maybe even improving on last year's performance is too great! Null points last year. Paris in October is sure to be more inspiring.

Regards, John

Unfortunately I can't make it as I have decided to visit Solms and Photokina, and the dates are too far apart.

But please remind Erl to grab a pile of snaps of you all at the meet, so we can see you in print on his return. :)

Cheers, William

Bill, Leica are donating a signed copy of iWitness by Leica Photographer Tom Stoddart. Who knows there may be an M8 next year :-)

They are also offering to feature the winning entries in the Leica Bulletin - though no promise on this, I guess it depends on if they have space.

We did get space in the Leica Bulletin the first year. It's a good move for them to recognise the actions of a group of supporters of the marque; it's a form of cheap publicity. Have you tried contacting Gerry Coward-Williams?

Regards,

Bill

Well the book has arrived from Leica and pretty darn good it is too. Signed 'to a fellow Leica user' by the author. Fingers crossed that I win, otherwise I'll have to pay the postage to send it to the winner :-)

There'll also be a little gift from Leica for all of the participants.

C-lux's all round? :) Good that Leica are providing some form of sponsorship again.

How about asking them to provide a 'fleet' of M8's with the new 28mm lens, just for the day. Everyone has to use the same camera/lens combo and we get to try out the new camera :D

It was excellent that they published some of our photos in the Bulletin following the first challenge, I treasure my copy, and it would be nice for them to do that again. Will also help promote the forum (as they don't mention it on their website any longer).

Regards

James, don't get too excited. Anyone who took part in the first challenge in London might be able to guess what the individual presents are. Let's just say I'll be able to carry them all in my camera bag :-)

As I mentioned earlier the book awaiting the winner is excellent. Pretty strong stuff in places, but highly memorable.

Also a big thank you to Bill for writing the original rules. Thankfully we've managed to keep this a social get together as much as a competition. I know it's early days yet, but we ought to start thinking of next year's venue soon :-).

One think that occurred to me was that if we'd held the event later in the year we'd all have been able to get the metro down to Maison du Leica in blvd Beaumarchais to gaze with longing at an M8 ;-)

Steve, did you choose rue St Denis because of the piercing shops or because of the sex shops (not to mention les petites femmes de Paris) ?

Fine by me, I'll be there too even if it is awfully close to my work

Pascal:

Do you work at the piercing shops or the sex shops :)

Steve:

I might just have to look into the flights. Do you have any accomodations lined up?

Robert
