Maybe not zinc but certainly not brass the edges of the black are rubbed off and it is definitely steel coloured not brass like on my MP and M9s. Maybe the bottom plate is pressed steel? Thanks I hadn't thought of that. I just weighed them both (bottom plates) and they weigh the same so I guess it is brass. For me mine is brass. Later M4-Ps with the flush viewfinder are zinc but I have never heard of any bubbling (for that matter I have never seen a M6 bubble other than pictures on this forum).
