fotografr Posted September 15, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I did a shoot yesterday in a small Wisconsin town and it reminded me of one of those quintessential midwestern places that is always about 50 years behind the times--but in a good way; from the old courthouse at the town square to '57 Chevys to the small cafe where everyone knows each other and mornings are for coffee and conversation. I got up at sunrise and shot these before the real shoot began.

Phranque Posted September 15, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 15, 2006 "the small cafe where everyone knows each other " I really like those shots, Brent. They remind me of many a holiday I had around similar small communities in Ariz / New Mexico /Wyoming. Memories .................................. semrich Posted September 15, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 15, 2006 Brent, I could just spend a long time in front of the shot, with the 57 Chevy and the lights of the car off in the distance coming through the just burning off early morning fog. Black and White really serves this shot well, with its tones and composition. Richard
elansprint72 Posted September 15, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 15, 2006 Brent, You missed Forrest Gump as he ran through! Excellent photos; good to know that these places still exist. Cheers, Pete.
martinop Posted September 15, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 15, 2006 Interesting series. #3 composition is my personal favorite.
stuny Posted September 15, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Brent - Terrific series and lovely thoughts. I like them all for their era, composition and tones. However, I wonder why the 6-cylinder Chevy has extra guages. The small block V8 would seem to be a prerequisite. lambroving Posted September 16, 2006 Share #10 Posted September 16, 2006 Brent, Nice catches, particularly #'s 1 & 3. How was breakfast? You must not look like an Alien because they were ignoring you in that first shot.
