My R4 with Vario-Elmar 35-70mm f/3.5 and Leica SF-20 flash and below that is a sunset shot I took hand held in A spot mode with Portra 160....maybe slightly underexposed on the right side but I still like it.

Hey, finally a flash for the R4!!! I have been wondering how to get my Nikon SB24 to work but it looks like you have my solution!

Thanks!

It's a great way to make my M9 lighter - use the R8 for a bit, then switch over, instant super lightweight M! lol

Only 2 R lenses i'm looking at now, are the 80 Lux and the 100 APO Macro. Better get saving!

You poor fool!

Next you'll be taken by the 28 Elmarit v.2, and then there'll be that clean 19 Elmarit, and a normal lens like the 50 Summilux E60 you can't live without, and can't bare being without the 90 AA...and something longer beckons like a 180 Elmarit APO. Once all that's secured, the siren song of the Holy Grail: 280 Telyt APO whispers in one ear...

haha well, actually the 19, 28 and 50 focal lengths are all ones my M system handles very nicely indeed, by my ZM 18/4 Distagon, 25/2.8 Biogon and 50/2 Planar, the R lenses I'm after are those that aren't easily covered by my M (anything over 75mm, macro) or are far more expensive on the M (75 Lux).

The 90 AA is lovely, but the price is out of my budget, as is the 180 APO which was actually my first interest in R lenses. As for the 280? I don't have arms of pure iron to carry such a thing!

The 80 Lux and 100 APO are both pretty much at the limit of my budget, but are unique and quality enough to make it worth while me searching them out over the next 12 months, not just for the cameras i have today, but those I'll have in the future

Leica R8 and Summilux-R 80mm

Still one of the best looking cameras ever made IMO.

I remember when I first saw the R8 "in the flesh" and I don't think I'll ever forget it. It was in a local camera store and when I saw it I just went gah gah.

I asked about it and the salesman actually tried to tell me in a round about way not to buy it. This was about 16 years ago I think

He explained that it was primitive, outdated and over priced. He also highlighted that it had no auto focus and you hand to hand wind the film. He then tried to switch me to a Canon EOS something.

I left and bought one that day in another shop. lol :D

New to me - an excellent condition R7 from Dan Tamarkin. The Summicron came from KEH and was bought for my A7, also for this digital have come a 60 macro a 35-70/4 and an 80-200/4. I couldn't resist getting a film body to use them on, as well as the Sony.

I like all three lenses. The 90 is widely used for all purposes. The 100 for all hi-definition and COLORS. The 80 for portrait.

Fernando.
