Simon Baker Posted March 27, 2010 Share #208 Posted March 27, 2010 Here's mine, I've just got "back into" the R system, all bought this month and at a very good price too, the R system is superb value now, I paid £2k for the lot ! The 50mm ROM ( on R8 ) was "Brand New" old stock, I got it along with the R5 for £599, I received it's 2 year warranty and passport from Leica UK in todays post:D The 100 APO ROM is truly a magical lens, I picked it up for a bargain £500 The 2x APO ROM was also a bargain at £199 The remainder ..... R8 277... serial , 35 & 90 Elmarits cost £700 in total All bought from reputable dealers with 6 month warranties ( except the new 50mm ) I'm a very "happy camper":D I owned an R8 up until 5 years ago and always regretted selling it so this "nice little purchase" sure feels sweet. Last year I had a bad experience with a s/h lens from a Leica Premier Dealer whereby they would not honour their warranty, it left me angry to say the least, in fact it led to me selling my 2 M8's and four wonderful primes, I had been considering the S system but this experience left me saying "sod it, no more Leica" and I bought a H3DII 39 instead, which by the way is a terrific tool. However I still missed the Leica's and my experience was the dealers fault not Leica's so why "cut off my nose to spite my face" so to speak, so once again I'm a Leica user and loving every moment of using these superb cameras. Regards I'm afraid I "cleaned him out" , well except for an R8 winder which I did not want, he's now sold that for £50 ! I initially contacted him regarding a 180mm F2.8 APO he was listing for £449 ! missed it by half an hour .....bugger ! Simon I have just added a 24mm Elmarit ROM to my kit, it is genuinely "unused' and appears to have never been mounted onto a body .
