I want to propose you some pictures of amazing and sensational volcano eruption in "Reunion Island" Indian Ocean,near Madagascar island,many years ago

These pictures are taken far from the volcano...because volcanic bombs can fall down on your head and also for very hot and burning lava around you.

We can hear sometimes very big explosions,see steam and bomb go out of the crater

Taken with my LeicaflexSL and Elmarit 135mm film Kodak + tripod

I remember that you must walk on the mountain 5 hours to arrive near the volcano during the night (on 1 am).The sight is wonderful and I never forget the noise of these explosions !

I remember my friend who were with me for that trip,has his Minolta blowed up by the heat,because he wanted to go near the volcano !

an other disappointment for an other friend: he has the soles of his basket shoes...melted because he walk over lava he thought that it was already cooled !

So keep your M8 in a cool place !

The cycle of volcano is very curious : you have a quiet period and suddenly explosive period arrived for a few minutes with very sensational fireworks,big explosions (like blast bomb) and whistling of volcanic bomb when it falls down from the sky !

I saw some of the footage on televsion.

 

Was about to say "lucky people", then felt stupid: lucky would have been "no outburst" and just live your life.
