Advertisement Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Hi Photoworks, Take a look here Leica M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Knorp Posted June 26 Share #2 Posted June 26 Oh dear ! Am I glad I didn’t buy that common D … 🤑 🤣
maxpower Posted June 26 Share #3 Posted June 26 I like it! Kind of wish they changed the ISO dial colour too. Can't picture myself getting it to replace my current M11-D though, maybe if I win the lottery. I'm curious if they'll release the Anastigmat-M separately as well.
sebben Posted June 26 Share #4 Posted June 26 The new old lens is cool! Wonder if they will make a serial production of that later.

UliWer Posted June 26 Share #9 Posted June 26 The separate Anastigmat has been on so many wishlists since they used the lens for the "0-Serie"replica from 2000. I think they are "obliged" to offer it beyond the special edition of 101 copies with the camera.

Yes, it was the only thing I liked about the 0-serie camera (other than the very nice black paint finish). It had a very interesting look, albeit on film of course (which has its own thing going anyway). The limited edition M11D is quite interesting but ultimately a weird combination of styles that doesn't really work. They have probably already sold out so I can't imagine Leica are too worried about what we might think.

I found some photos online to get a feel for the rendering.
UliWer Posted June 26 Share #12 Posted June 26 Though it comes in the context of the special edition together with the camera the official text on the Leica website gives some hope that where will be a separate edition of the lens: New Edition of the Leica I Lens When it made its debut in 1925, the Leica I came with a permanently affixed lens – the Leitz Anastigmat 50mm f/3.5. A hundred years on, we are reviving this legendary lens, carrying forward its remarkable legacy with the Leitz Anastigmat-M 50 f/3.5. This modern reissue features an M-Bayonet while faithfully preserving the original’s shape, dimensions, engravings, and retractable design for optimal compactness. Its exterior is now crafted from aluminium, featuring a nickel-coloured anodised finish that faithfully echoes the distinctive aesthetic of a century past.

Only was available on the "Null" camera, and it was a fixed lens. Fabulous lens. I sent my "null" camera to DAG at one point to see if he could remove the lens and put it into a regular Elmar mount, but he determined that the way Leica had built the lens, it wasn't possible.

UliWer Posted June 26 Share #15 Posted June 26 I asked a Leica dealer in Germany and was told that even the special edition together with the camera was not on sale soon. There were no information about a separate edition of the lens. 1

charlesphoto99 Posted June 26 Share #17 Posted June 26 (edited) No, no, no, Leica isn't a luxury brand at all.... 😏🙄🤑😂 EDIT: why two 50's in the same set? Edited June 26 by charlesphoto99 1
oldwino Posted June 26 Share #18 Posted June 26 It's a good looking camera, with some nice design touches. That box, however, is wonderfully over the top. I hope the people who designed it get a nice bonus.
darylgo Posted June 26 Share #19 Posted June 26 Will this be a collector edition or user? The closest in recent years the M60 became a user, anyone collecting it has not seen an increase in value. The 50mm lens would be a great edition to add to the reissues, I don't know how different it is from the 35mm Elmar that can be purchased easily and reasonably. jakontil Posted June 26 Share #20 Posted June 26 (edited) Damn… after observing thoroughly… i realised i couldnt attach my strap lug… deal breaker.. having no shutter release thread is already taken a hit for me 😖 Edited June 26 by jakontil
